    Hello. :FIFblush:

Ummm.... OK, Hi. I am new here, having come from the docs office and completely freaking out.

In February 2010 I was pregnant, and had a miscarriage overseas at 8 weeks. That was twins.

Being devestated, we decided to wait until we got married this year, but SUPRISE. Im pregnant. 5w5d.

I had my levels checked at 18dpo, and they were 3220. But other than that - I just knew. I went to the library and got a book on twins, not having any on either side. I also stopped myself buying things as a little voice kept saying, wait and see how many.

I was supposed to have a 6 week scan, and having high HCG I thought realistically, I had one baby, who had implanted early and so would be big with HB etc.

Instead, the lady just said, OK Im not going to be able to put your mind at ease. There are two sacs Im sure of, I cant tell if it is one big sac with a division or two sacs close together but there are two.

One measured 4w6d and one 5w1d.

Now...Im freaking out. The first scan last time showed a small measurement also. I KNOW that they could have implanted late...NOT OD late, as hubby went away on day 10 of my cycle. But I don't think I implanted late as I got a BFP at 8dpo.

Anyway. Im really happy about the two babies....whilst freaking out. But Im really really scared about the small sac size.

Is it a twin thing? Can they be smaller? Anyone have similar?

Please help. Im such a level headed person normally. But this has landed me on my butt and I dont know what to do except cry.

    L

Hi! Thanks heaps for the reply. How can a week go so slooooowly? LOL. The only time a week goes slower is in the TTW! :)

The fact that they are so close in size is a good thing, I would be more concerned if one was measuring on time and the other was behind. It is really hard at the early u/s to measure because they are very tiny and of they are close to the yolk sac it is even harder to see where to measure. Are they planning another u/s in a week or 2? Hugs and prayers!

Oh yeah, the two week wait is harsh! :80: BUT you'll get through the next week... do things to keep your mind off of thinking about it and remember, never ever google anything. :nea:

    (Closing Google I promise)... :p

I know it's early and so forth and etc. But now that Ive seen them I want answers NOW NOW NOW. It's so bad after a miscarriage, I'm so paranoid. :(

I'm going to think how the numbers were good...and TRY and wait. Errrrgh.

I have seen on here pretty commonly that one sac is bigger at the very early stages and then the other one catches up. Hang in there. There is nothing you can do at this point but wait.

My baby B always measured 4 days behind baby A. They are measuring close together and your numbers are awesome. Try not to worry, I know hard, and keep us posted.

I am thinking that since your numbers are high and they are close together in size then that's a good thing!!
Stay positive and keep us posted!!
    Congrats on your twin pregnancy!!

How far along do you think you are? Are you concerned that they both aren't measuring to where you believe you are? Remember just because you know you probably conceived, it could still be up to a couple days later. At that early point, a couple days makes a huge difference. Was there anything inside the sac? Did you see a yolk sac in either one? I know its so hard, I have had multiple mc's and that wait between u/s is just plain torture. Just keep thinking positive thoughts!! The 2 day difference between seems normal. Keep us posted!!! Good luck!

I had a m/c about 6 weeks before I concieved our twins. I was also really paranoid, but I agree...stay away from Google! And FWIW, my twins always measured about 3 days apart. Remember that sperm can live a lot longer than just the day you did the deed. I'd be curious to do a poll to see how many of our b/g twins had measurements that were a few days apart since the "boy sperm" and the "girl sperm" live different lengths.

    Just breathe :)

I charted and conceived these twins on CD 19 and I was POSITIVE about it because of the temp spike after ovulation. Then got a triphasic pattern a few days later which would have been implantation. Which put my due date at 9/27. My first ultrasound showed the babies measuring right at what I said with a due date of 9/27 (in the ER which is where I found out we were having twins). Followed up with a doctor who did an ultrasound at closer to 9 weeks and they said my due date was 10/5. 8 days later. Which would have been physically IMPOSSIBLE.

    Oops sorry rambling..

Anyway.. it can take up to 10 days for implantation to be completed after conception.
The sacs are measuring with in a few days of each other which is great

Our first ultrasound showed Baby B's sac as much smaller than Baby A's sac. At 20 weeks. Baby b is the bigger baby and is a pain to get any kind of measurements on because of her positioning in my uterus. If you have a tilted uterus it could account for some discrepancy and also please remember that every tech is going to measure differently which is why the due date is just an estimation.

Breathe.. know that whatever will happen, will happen regardless and stressing out isn't going to do you or those babies any favors at this point!

Good luck on a happy and healthy 9 months!

    Hi Ladies.

Thanks so much for the replies. What a great forum. :)

I am not concerned about the difference between, just the size of both being small for MY dates. I know...well I thought I knew my dates with 100% certainty, so it threw me off.

This month, my DH went away to work for two weeks on day 10 of my cycle. So day 10 was the last that we um.... :FIFblush:

Because i got an early BFP...8/9dpo, I figured I MUST have Od early. So when I went for scan I was expecting a bumper baby in there not just with heartbeat but probably walking already! LOL

I guess that I could have Od at normal time or even later if the fishies can really hang around for a week. I was pretty sure I Od on day 13. That's what is felt like. Being that I got a BFP early I ASSUMED I implanted early.

Baaaaaah. Guess it pays to assume huh. I will go back to docs today, and get him to refer me to the hospital where I will deliver. They are one of Australia's top neonate hospitals, so I'm guessing their machine is also better. I've had one scan there before and it was SO detailed.

I know I should wait two weeks, but Puh-lease....as if that will happen. :) I'll try as hard as I can for a week though.

    Thanks again.

Ok, I had a m/c then spontaneously got pregnant with twins, too. At the first u/s, I was pretty convinced they were frats- B measured 4 days behind A and they were di/di. However, they are perfectly healthly, term, ids.

Waiting is really hard, but you can do it!

Same here. M/C at 8wks and then spontaneously pg with Twins. Our first few U/S's the babies were usually 3-4 days apart in size. Now they are only an ounce or two apart. They are Di/Di as well and I am just waiting now for them to be born to see if they are truly Fraternal or ID's since they are both girls, there is a chance!!

Sheesh. The twins after M/C seems really common. Interesting.

My doc just rang to say the big technician guy had written a reoprt to say there were two gestational sacs measuring five weeks. I estimated 5w5d. So I don't think it's TOO bad. But I'd have liked more.

He said come back in three weeks. OH SURE!!! LOL

Funny thing is I kept expecting the doc to say twins? What twins? There was only one in there. The twin thing just AINT sinkin in!!

OH! I agree don't google! When I first found out a week ago (at 16w) we were expecting twins I googled! It was horrible! I'm still paranoid that everything is wrong with them! We have to wait almost a month for our next appointment and I am going crazy!! Just stay away from google! *sending good thought your way*
