I've always thought that my girls are fraternal twins. A-I have a first cousin that has fraternal twins and I figured me having them is hereditary thus they are fraternal. B-They had seperate sacs and placentas C- Although they resemble eachother and have the same color eyes and hair, I think they look very different. Lately SO many people have been telling me that they look more alike now that they are older and it's harder to tell them apart. Even my MIL and DH have times where they can't tell who is who. I just wonder if I could be wrong in assuming that they are fraternal twins, I mean they look SO different to me that it's like I couldn't imagine them being idenctical twins. I don't know their blood types off hand. Would the Pedi have that on file? Here's some picts, do you think they look frat or id? How much do those DNA tests cost?

[SIZE=10pt]I vote ID!! Your doctor or the hospital they were born at should have their blood type. Not exactly sure how much the DNA tests are, but I think I remember reading they were around $175. I would see if you could find out their blood type first. If they have the same ~ then decide if you want to do the DNA test.

    Your girls are beautiful!!

So cute! They look extremely similar. I'm bad at this game. I would definitely call their dr. They should have their blood type in their chart from the hospital.

    Definitely ID to me.

Plus...I think if you find yourself asking this question (and your DH can't even tell them apart), then they are identical.

Good luck figuring it out. LIke a pp said, the hospital where they were born should know their blood-types. Funny...that was my second question after my boys were born. Of course the first being, Are they OK?

My gut says ID, but I can see the differences you noted. I'd say see what you can find about the blood test (could they run one if they haven't...might be cheaper than the genetics test). If the blood type is the same, will you get the genetic test done?

You will not be needing a DNA test. They are IDENTICAL.

I have to laugh. They are VERY identical LOLOLOL!

I am the same way tho with my boys. Not even my own mother (their Gma) can tell them apart! I think they look NOTHING alike. If they hadn't shared a sac and placenta- I'd be SURE they were fraternal!

We just know them sooo well, that to US, they look like day and nite.

Your gals are absolutely adorable and absolutely without a sliver of a doubt, identical twins.

Woah.... totally ID! I would do as was suggested though and check on their blood type. If it is the same, go with the DNA test. We are happy we did it, and the whole thing took less than a week. ($170)

I would have to say they look ID to me... although, I see the differences in them. As a mom, you would definately be able to tell them apart. I have a friend with ID boys and she said her dh mixed them up a couple of times. She could always tell which one was which. I have been around the boys long enough that I can tell them apart, but I know a lot of people still have a tough time with it. LOL... she had them wear different color shoes so that people could tell them apart. One day the boys wanted the same shoes and NO ONE could tell them apart. Funny how people not so close use things like shoes or coats to tell twins apart instead of looking for differences like moles, head shape or size, or other physical characteristics. They are adorable... I know that the hospital will have their information and so should the information that was given to their ped. I know that my babies info and blood type was on paperwork they gave me at discharge. I found out my dd is the same b-type as me and ds is the same as dh! Good luck.

I'd guess Identical. They are beautiful. We did the test because we didn't want the boys wondering their whole life. I'm glad we found out that they are identical.
Most likely since you aren't sure, they probably are identical. I can see differences, but they aren't the same child. They should look slightly different. They weren't in the same spot in the womb. My boys head shapes are different so I can definitely tell them apart. But they have many moments that have me guessing.

Wow! They are gorgeous! I think ID too. The hair growing in the same direction makes me think so. Their faces are very similar also. Finding out the blood type is the cheapest way to go. We're pretty sure ours are frat, and I've been working on DH to shell out the $170 to make sure. Let us know what you end up discovering!

OMGosh they are SO cute!! I'm bad at this game (see avatar for my VERY fraternal girls), but I think ID. I think the DNA test is around $150-$200.

Holy ID! I didn't realize so many people would think they look ID, I thought for sure atleast a few frat guesses. I wish getting their blood types was easier! I called the pedi and they said I have to call the hospital to get that info. When I called the hospital they told me I have to fill out paperwork and pay money to get their records <_< . All I want to know is their blood types!!! I wish I would have known to ask this while I was in the hospital after they were born. I'll keep ya updated:)

    Thanks!

They very well could be ID! My ID twins look alike, but I can clearly tell the difference, and I know they're ID! So, just because you can tell the difference, doesn't mean they aren't ID! get the test!

I don't know anything about the DNA tests but they look identical to me! And very cute! It looks like one is bigger than the other so maybe that's why they look different to you?

FWIW.. I vote ID as well. :) Check all your hospital paperwork. The boys' blood types were written on several things I brought home with me (discharge papers, papers for my pedi, vaccination schedule/certificate, hospital courtesy birth certificate, etc.)

My attempt to find out the girls blood types has been foiled, atleast for today. I have called both Pediatricians offices, the lab where they had bloodwork done, and went down to the hospital in person and spoke to the lady in medical records. She told me it's not a for sure thing that they have their blood types in their medical files. That just seems so weird to me that they wouldn't, I mean in case of an emergency and for some reason they needed a blood transfusion or something, wouldn't they want to know what blood type ahead of time? For now I have to wait for a phone call from the records department, hopefully they will find something:)
