Today I found out my twins are two boys. Likely fraternal but they can't say for sure. It filled me with many mixed emotions. Excited, deflated, confused, nervous. I already have a daughter and I somehow thought it was a boy/girl twin set. Two boys makes me nervous. One boy would have made me nervous. I just feel so clueless about boy things and can't imagine being as good of a mother to them.

I want to be more excited than I am, but feel a little off-kilter at the news. Yet at the same time I do feel a growing warmness and excitement toward the prospect, so I know it will all work out...just wondering if 1) these mixed feels are not totally outside the norm and 2) (this is so silly!) but do boys cuddle? I mean, I always pictured the twins sleeping together and soothing one another, now that I know it is boys, I wonder will they just kick and hit each other or will they want to cuddle one another too...

Congratulations on your twin boys :clapping:
    1. I don't think what you feel is out of the norm at all.
    2. Boys do cuddle. I have b/g twins and my DS is a cuddler and he cuddles DD frequently.

    [SIZE=12pt]CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boys are so so so much fun!!!! I have two boys aged 4 and 3 and am expecting ID boys anytime now  I love my boys, they are mommy's boys for sure, they give me so much love and tenderness  they are easy going and they are best friends. They don't hit each other or anybody else for that matter, they don't create chaos everywhere they go, they are polite, well mannered, full of goodness. Yes, they have tons of energy to burn, which they can do by running around like lunatics in the basement, up and down the stairs (on rainy days  ), in the garden, in the park. But they also love just chilling out cooking, drawing, colouring, playing with their cars or train set, doing puzzles with me :D Boys don't have to be stereoptypes. My nieces (who are the same ages), whom i mind all the time are higher maintenance imo.

So once again, congrats, boys are great!! :D ;)

I feel the same way about girls .... if I find out I'm having two girls .... someone might have to pick me up off the floor. I'm praying for boy/girl!!! My hubby said that he thinks that's what we'll have... and he was right when he guessed twins!!!

I love my boy twins! They are so sweet together. I couldn't imagine a better combo, but I'm sure that's how every twin momma feels about their set of twins whichever kind. My Baby A is the best cuddler out of my now 6 kids. And they both love me so much and always come to me over anyone else. I'm sure that will change, but I'm sure enjoying it for now.

    Congrats on your news!

Congratulations!!! I understand your feelings. I already had 1 girl and really hoped to have a boy / girl set or 2 girls. The idea of 2 boys scared me to death! I had a boy and a girl. They're very different, but my girl is also extremely different from my oldest, who's still the easiest. My twin girl is crazy and my twin boy a little difficult sometimes but a very good and fairly easy as well! My boy is the biggest teddy bear of the bunch ... always wants to hug ... he's mommy's little boy, born last.

I'm glad you're getting excited about it, though I do now EXACTLY how you feel. When I found out they were both boys I felt a little disappointed and scared- what was I going to do with 2 boys?!? I knew girls. But now that they're here, of course, it's a totally different ball game and I'm really glad that I've been given the opportunity to raise both sexes. Congratulations on your boys! :)

    1. I think what you are feeling is very normal. I've known many people who feel apprehensive/nervous when they find out they are having a certain gender.

    2. You'll love having boys! All 3 of my boys are such cuddle bugs. They love to be held, carried around, sleep on us, sit on our lap, give us kisses and hugs, lay with their big brother, etc. They are babies and children first, not boys or girls. If that makes sense? So, don't worry about gender influencing them at such a young age - put a diaper on a baby and most of the time you can't tell if they are boys or girls! They both need the same things - and personality influences so much more than gender (I think). :)

There's nothing like having a few mama's boys around! :)

    Congrats!!

I had a girl already when I found I was having twin boys and I couldn't be happier. DD is such a daddy's girl and I really really wanted at least one mama's boy. I got two. They both are cuddle bunnies but Greyson hugs you more often. I am sure you will figure out what to do with your boys by the time they get here.

Welcome to the blue team! Boys really are a lot of fun as pp said! My boy is definitely a cuddler and is so protective of his mommy! I think my DD is definitely more high maintenance than my DS. We were so certain there was one of each this time around and ill admit i was a bit shocked to find out we're having 2 boys, but i'm really excited regardless. You'll do great i'm sure!

I felt the same way when I found out I was having my first boy. It can be totally normal. :) And, yes, boys do cuddle. You should see what a cuddler my Dax is. He is the most loving child of all time.

Welcome to the boys club!! :)

Your feelings are normal. Don't be hard on yourself.

When I found out I was having two boys I was really excited. I knew if they love me as much as my brothers love my mom we'd be ok. Boys have a really special relationship with their moms. Its really sweet how protective and nurturing they grow to be. My oldest brother is that way with my mom and it makes me smile.

Plus I would guess that boys give you the opportunity to get down n dirty and wrestle around. Bugs n trucks n superhero stuff. Fun!

    1. Yes boys cuddle...while I nurse my boys...they rub each others heads, hold hands....the other day one started crying while I was feeding them, and the other put his head on his shoulder and was rubbing his back! ( I cried) it was very compassionate! ....they do have their shares of struggles....wrestling on the floor, hollaring...you name it!

    I have 4 boys...and BOYS ROCK!

    Embrace it Momma!

first CONGRATS! i'm also having 2 boys, mine are confirmed mono/di identicals. so welcome to the blue team! :D

sure boys cuddle, they also punch, kick, fight...lol but they can be cuddlers too! my nephews (who are 2 years a part) were inseperable as babies, it was adorable, but at the same time they were very rough with eachother, and me. :)

and i would say it's completely normal it be scared about any gender. i was petrified about the thought of having girls, dealing with periods, mood swings, boyfriends, dresses, dolls, training bras, make-up, puberty......all of that just made me wish they would just grow penises! i was NOT excited when we were told at 12 weeks they might be girls. it was far to scary for me. but it went away and we picked out names and i tried to get into the whole "girl" experience by looking at girly things at baby stores. fortunately for us they did grow penises because at 18 weeks we had boys.....lol. i was so RELIEVED!

boys will be (from what i hear) sooooooo easy. people tell me that compared to girls boys are a little rougher but overall easier to handle, they are lazier and tend to learn how to potty train and walk slower than girls (again this is what other moms/dads have told me who have both). but once they hit puberty it's cake compared to girls....boys don't need (most of the time) half of the things that girls do, like designer clothes or lots of them. they can survive on less, which makes them a little more financially feasible.

remember that when you worry about the roughness of boys just know that girls can be very catty, especially two of them at the same age....which (in my opinion) can be worse than a little rough housing.

you'll start to get excited about them as they grow and you start to get things for them. for me boys were the icing on the cake.

and remember this, boys are far more likely to be devoted to their mothers as they age then girls are. :D

    good luck and CONGRATS!!!!!!

edited to mention that if you have ever seen john and kate plus 8, look at aiden and how gentle he is with his siblings.....it's just proof that boys can be gentle and soft too.
