[SIZE=14pt]Every week we will be showcasing a different forum that is part of Twinstuff. We want our expecting moms to know all the different places there are at this site and be comfortable going to them. This weeks forum is the NICU Forum. Although we do hope your babies won't have to spend any time in the NICU, we want you to know that if they need to spend time there, we have a forum led by very supportive and understanding ladies. The Moderators of this forum are Summerfun, DATJMom and Kyrstyn . The Moderators are there if you have any questions about this forum or TS.

Please feel free to respond back to this thread with your questions or something you learned from visiting the NICU forum. We'll be having the NICU Mods stop by and tell more about the their forum.

Hi, I am a NICU mod as well. :) The NICU can be a very stressful place, there is that fear of the unknown and it can be very overwhelming. There is a lot to learn from the NICU vocabulary, procedures, and learning how your NICU is run etc. One thing I would like you to remember if your babies are born early, is we have so many success stories on TS with premature babies. It is amazing what the NICU can do with these little babies these days. Feel free to take a peek or ask questions in the forum, if you think you might have a NICU stay. Of course no one wants their babies to be in the NICU, but if they have to be we are there to support you, we have all BTDT. Please feel free to check us out. :)

Amy said it perfectly. We are here to help in anyway we can. Also the NICU forum has a great support system of lots of BTDT moms who come back often to give advice, congrats, or just some online hugs. We hope we never have to see you in there, but if your babies come a bit too early, just know that we are there for you. :)

Amy and Rachel, thanks for the great explanation!! The NICU forum was a great resource for me when I had my girls at 28 weeks and spent 10 weeks in the NICU. The other mom's that had already been through it were a great support system for me, and they were able to help me with so many questions that I had. Like Amy said, the NICU can be a very scary place, but once you get to know the nurses, the terminology and the routine it can make a hard time that much easier!
