My DS1 had no problem changing from formula to milk. My twins on the other hand are having a very difficult time with it. I have tried only putting a little bit of milk in their bottle of formula, but they still refuse it. Has anyone completely cut formula out and gone straight to milk? Any advice would be appreciated!

I don't think I will be much help.

I started by adding two ounces of milk to their formula. Then I ran out of formula and gave them all milk. They took it and had no problems.

I switched cold turkey with Jacob and Sammi. He did fine, but he would eat anything.

I added milk to their formula with the others except Sarah. She was always on soy...from the way they both smelled, I'm sure it wasn't that much of a change.

Are you still warming up the formula/milk?

We added slowly over about 2 weeks. 1/4 milk, 3/4 formula for a few days. Then 1/2 of each for a week. Then 3/4 milk, 1/4 formula, etc. They didn't seem to notice luckily.

I did cold turkey, milk in sippies, at just over 11 months and never looked back. They drank it right away for the first couple of days but then slowed down for a few days and then were fine once they realized that's all the were getting.

We just went cold turkey (the day of their 12-month checkup, after the doctor gave us the OK, we switched all the formula to milk). But they didn't even seem to notice, so I don't know if that helps you at all. Is the temperature the same? We did warm the milk up at first (just for a few seconds, which is what we'd been doing with the formula at that point).

I totally didn't think about the fact of still keeping it warmer. At least in that regard of warming up the milk. When we have made the bottle of formula we made it extra hot so when we added the milk from the fridge it would balance out the temperature.

I think I am just going to try to go cold turkey. Also, I think I will just do sippy cups from now on too.

I am going to try it out today. I will let you know how it goes.
    Thanks for the input! :)

Good luck with the switch. I am in the process of switching one of mine this week. We are at 75/25 today. I just did it gradually. I didnt think about cold turkey as an option, hmmmmm.

    ETA to fix sentence.

I say go cold turkey and straight to a sippy all at once. We just had our check up yesterday and that is what I am doing now. It is tough but at least it will be over very soon! Good luck!
