formula to milk and bottle to sippy....

My girls are 13 months old. We're finally ready to be done with formula. We're in the middle of switching to milk. (Slowly increasing the amount of milk in thier bottles.) My question is, once they are on only milk, should we keep giving it in a bottle or put it in a sippy? They do pretty well with sippys but so far will only take water in them. And they don't drink much. they like to play with them.
I'm worried trying to take out the bottle will just mess up how our day runs. Mostly I'm worried about messing up the bedtime routine. Once you drop bottles, how do you get them calmed down/relaxed at bedime?

 

We just dropped the bottles one at a time, replacing it with a sippy. I never put milk in a bottle, so when they were on all milk the bottles were gone. I was worried about the bedtime bottle, but it was really a non-issue.

My pedi recommended 16-20 ounces of milk a day, much less than the amount of formula they were supposed to have. Their calories come from food.

 

Thank you for asking this as we are fastly approaching this in our house (2 months now). I look forward to reading more answers. Like pp said our pedi told us to do it one at a time too, the bedtime being the last one to drop.

 

Right now they wake up for a bottle arould 6am- If I'm dropping the bottle do I just get them up and give them breakfast then? It's so early, lol.
They also take a bottle at bedtime. I'm toying with the idea of adding a snack when they get up from thier second nap. (around 3:30) and moving dinner back from 5 to 5:30 or 6. (Bedtime is 7.)

I guess I'm just thinking outloud.
