Well, the time has come that I need to start supplementing with formula... I went to mix 10 oz this am (5 for each) and it was disgustingly clumpy and very frothy...

if i need to mix 10 oz at a time, what's the best way to do that? do you add the 5 scoops to the 10 oz in one container (if so what kind)? putting all that powder on top of the water seems to make it clump! Help!

I just poured the amount of ounces of water into the bottle and then added the powder and then shake is alot to get as much of the clumpyness out. You can also add a couple of gas drops to the finished product to take away the air bubbles (frothyness).

I make a pitcher at a time. The one I got from walmart has a stiring device attached to the lid. Here it is at amazon. I add the water, then the powder, stir w/ a wisk and then when I go to pour in the bottle I will use the stiring thing in the lid.

I scoop the powder into the bottles first, then add in the water and shake.

We always put the water in first, added the formula and shook a lot. I found that sometimes the cooler the water, the harder it was to mix up.

I pour the water first and then the powder, otherwise, for me, it sticks to the bottom of the bottle. I like the pitcher idea, though... good luck!

I make the bottles as I go through the day. I put the water in the bottles then add the powder formula and shake. I usually let the bottles sit for minute while I change diapers and by the time I'm feeding them all the bubbles have dissolved.

The container says to add the powder to the water. I have always followed those instructions and made mine in the bottle. If you want to make more than just a bottle or two, you can mix it in a large container and keep it in the fridge. If you are able to get the concentrate, it's best for that. When I use to buy the concentrate I bought a container just for formula that had a screw on lid from rubbermaid I believe. It had a small spout to pour from. It worked perfectly. If you warm your water up first to the temp you want it, the formula does mix better. I will often times premake bottles and put them in the fridge. The formula may have settled a little bit, but it takes nothing at that point to remix it and there are much less bubbles for the babies to get air from. You can store formula mixed up in the fridge for 24 hours, before having to worry about it. HTH!!

I always add the water, then add the appropriate amount of formula, and then I use a formula mixer which I have found dramatically cuts down on the foam and chunks. HTH!

I used a sports water bottle and filled it with water first, then powder and shake a whole lot. You have to shake a lot for it to get the clumps out.
