Has anyone else had trouble with Enfamil Enfacare Lipil (the formula for preemies) making their kids gassy and constipated?? Anyone recommend another formula that has DHA/ARA and claims to "help" this problem?

We were on neosure and that too made them constipated. We are currently working our way through formulas to find the right one. One is doing really well on good start but it makes my other baby really gassy.

It's not a preemie formula, but we found Similac Alimentum to work for one of our twins who was super gassy and also had reflux. I've heard there's a way to mix it to increase calories - check with your ped.

MY b/g twins were on neosure at first. But Nolan was so super gassy so pedi switched him to enfamil gentlease + gas drop. Gas was gone but he didnt like the formula and became a lazy eater. Then he was switched to similac Alimentum for a week now. He is happy now. I still give me gas drop with formula. Oh and my twins have 5 EBM bottles and 3 formula bottles every day each. I also stop intaking dairy stuff. Nolan is so super sensitive with what I eat. Oh now they are almost 4 month. Their pedi said we can use some kind of thick sugar (I forgot the med name, but you can get over over) to insert into their butts so they can poop. That stuff really works. He have had pooping and gas issues for months. Finally, everybody is happy. GL
Oh about DHA, you just take omega 3,6,9 daily if you breastfeed them.

We had the boys on Enfamil Gentlease. I also tried mylicon drops. I felt like those drops didn't really do anything though. As for the formula, I don't know if there was a huge difference. I did it for the spit up. I remember talking to the pedi about it and he said, that basically-if there is a market for it-someone is going to buy it, so someone is going to sell it. He really didn't see the difference in all the different formulas, etc. And by that point I was sick of switching on them, so I stayed with it.

Good luck. I hope they get some relief soon!
