After reading the posts in the other thread about circumcision, I wanted to be sure that I was cleaning it properly. We bath them every night and wipe down all body parts, but that is about it, we don't do anything "special" down there other then a wipe - do I need to be doing anything different other then a surface wipe down?

They are self cleaning. So no need to do anything. What your doing is perfect.

Exactly. :good: No special cleaning needs to be done.

Yep, just the way you're doing it.

That's what we do minus the bath every night. My boys only bathe once a week unless necessary.

My sons are circumsized, but one has more foreskin leftover. I pull it back a little with dirty diaper changes to clean under there as well.

That's fine with a circumsized penis, but you never want to pull back the foreskin on an intact penis. He can pull it back once it detaches but until then, it should be left alone!!!

Nope, nothing special & don't pull it back. They will do it on their own eventually ;)

The design takes care of itself :)

Ditto - my pedi said "Just clean it like a finger." Definitely don't retract the foreskin.

My little boy is uncircumcised and I pull back the foreskin. I have been able to do that for months now (he is a bit over 6 months old). Have doctors told you not to pull back the foreskin? I never forced it, of course. I pull back the foreskin and clean once a week or something like that. Whenever, I think of it. Sometimes the diaper rash lotion will get under there.

Okay..I was so nervous for a bit but I forgot to take into account that my son's penis has been partially circumcised from birth. He was born that way so that is why it retracts. Just that much skin missing is what causes it to retract already. We have to bring him to a urologist to find out if we should have some surgery done for the placement of his urethra (it's just a bit off) plus we have to see if we should "complete" the circumcision or just keep it the way it is. Sorry for the confusion!! I obvious need some sleep :)

My ped told me the "clean it like a finger" explanation, too! It has helped me so much when initially I was worried I wasn't cleaning it enough! :)

I enjoy the no-maintenance cleaning as well. There have been a few times that I've pushed some of the wrinkles out of the way to wipe some diaper cream build-up, but I've never (and will never) forcibly retracted the skin or broken the adhesions.
