We've tried almost everything: zantac, prevacid, cereal in the bottle, Enfamil AR, Enfamil AR plus cereal. I refused to put Sophia on Reglan for it's devastating side effects, in fact FDA approved Reglan for no more than 4 weeks and there some big lawsuits are happening around it. She's gaining weight ok, but changing her 10 times a day and feeding 3-4 times in the row is a bit exhausting. Besides that she's always thirsty, but when I give her water it comes right out immediately. I read somewhere that on-belly position is good for reflux, especially under a 40 degree angle. Today I gave a bottle with no cereal in it and put her in a Fisher Price aquarium bouncer, but on her belly. It's been 20 min. so far - no vomit, no spit up and she looks so comfy bouncing on her belly [IMG]

We also have had really good luck with reflux and being on the tummy. Our pedi recommended it saying it helps strengthen the muscles in their stomach to eventually stop the reflux. Well at 7 months he is really getting better!

I am glad Sophia had a good day! She goes through so much its good to see her go through one less thing! [IMG]

I'm glad to hear that he's getting better! I don't think that Sophia's case will be getting better before she gets her transplant, but at least it hopefully will be less laundry and changing.
Sophia and Maria are 12 month and 2 weeks old now.

I don't have any advice, but I just wanted to say that she looks so darn cute hanging out on her belly! I hope it works for you and things get better!

aww she looks so adorable in that picture. Have you tried liquid prilosec. My sons reflux was sooo bad, throwing up full bottles, ruined furniture, full clothing changes for him and myself. He had been on reglan and zantac together, didnt work. then we switched to Prilosec and it worked so good.

We had great success with Zegerid. Check out the MARCI reflux website for more info. Email those Drs, they will help!

Thank you, ladies [IMG] We have an appointment this coming Wednesdey, I'll ask about prilosec and zegerid, but we are very limited because of her kidneys condition.

Lougood - I'm so sorry, I know exactly how you feel. I already put her in her crib - nothing yet... fantastic... [IMG]

what a sweetie you have. i was going to suggest prilosec aswell as it worked for maia.

i know this isn't a cure for the spitting up, but when we maia was spitting up loads we covered her clothes in very bit bibs and just washed those - not sure it'll be helpful.

    hang in there. [IMG]

She DOES look so cute! Have you also tried feeding her sitting straight up? My pedi said that when you feed them even semi laying flat, the milk stays on the top of their tummy, and the air on the bottom. So when they burp, the air pushes the milk back out. We now feed my ds sitting straight up and he almost has NO spit up ever. When he burps, it's all air. This is AMAZING since we were going through 6 outfits a day sometimes. Best of luck!

That is SO great that you found something that helps! I didn't know that position was helpful, and the bouncy seat holds her at the perfect angle. You should send that picture in to Fisher Price! I am going to try it just to see if it helps us. Lord knows we have our share of spit up. I'm going to try feeding sitting straight up too. Great tips!

    Congrats on your surprise #3!

    Lili - thank you!

Koozie - I will definitely try that! Thanks!

Kristie75 - Thanks! Congrats to you too! Can you imagine, I almost put this seat away, because I thought that they've outgrown it, but we cought Maria having a lot of fun in it - she would climb in it and bounce standing on her arms and knees - so much fun! So we decided that it has to stay. And than I read that article about the 40 degree on the belly position and it worked! I hope that it will continue working [IMG]

We had such and issue with reflux and the doctor wanted to try everything besides meds. so we changed formula after formula. Finally, on my own i tried goodstart b/c we wer throwing up whole bottles at a time. I switched to the Goodstart without the DHA and ARA and we have been perfect ever since. No more throwing up. I think it had to do with the DHA and ARA. we were on the Alimentum, the Nutramigen, and every brand that similac made. they all had the DHA and ARA. Finally when i noticed that this good start didnt, there was our problem. Its fixed now and they love this, no fighting or crying during bottles...

Too Cute!! We also used to put Eli on his tummy across our knees and bounce him when he was having a bad tummy ache and it helped. I was going to suggest that she might have a milk protein allergy along with the reflux causing the vomit. We tried so many things and finally found out it was a combination of Reflxu and Milk Protein allergy. We were doing Prevacid and Nutramigen before we got any real relief. We finally switched to Soy at 7.5 mos(I was scared to death of returning to the old days) and it works well for the boys too. One physical thing the Pedi GI told me to look for, for Milk Protein Allergy was the area right around the butthole(he he I said butthole) If it's real read and circles the whole area that sometimes is a sign.

OMG - she looks so snug and comfy in that pic -- CUTE! I'll have to keep this in mind for our future "reflux mommies", thanks for passing the info along!

OK, the reason you had to put her that way stinks, but she looks so ridiculously cute I can't stand it! I'm glad you found something that helps, and I hope it continues to do so.
