We're having an issue with C&C coming into our bed every night. My theory is that it's because their beds are uncomfortable. They are in toddler beds, but have their crib mattresses on there that they've jumped on and basically ruined. If I run my hand over them, I can feel all the springs. I don't want to just replace the mattresses because to me it's a waste of money if we were planning on getting them twin beds in a year anyways.

So, we're thinking of getting them the twin beds now. I'm going back and forth between 2 twin beds, bunk beds that come apart to twin beds or something like they have at ikea where it's a twin bed with a pull out additional twin bed "underneath".

I was just looking online and MAN ARE THEY EXPENSIVE!!!

So my question is, what kind of bed do your twins have if they are no longer in their toddler beds?

We are in the process of moving from cribs to bunk beds that seperate. This one is the one we got. They are getting better at settling down, but not sleeping, in them yet.

We went straight to twins. We got our beds on craiglist and bought matresses. They LOVE their beds and they feel like 'big' kids. They hae never gotten out of them b/c I told them we would take them apart and they would go right back to cribs if they did. They even go up there for 'quiet time' to sit and read alone and they do this without prompting. I can't say enough good things about twin beds! We did give them some input and they picked beddign and soem decorative fabric so they have soem ownership over the beds.

My girls share a full size bed. (or sometimes share a really old twin day bed)

I've never done toddler beds with any of my kids, they go straight to a twin or full bed. Emilie is in a twin bed and we have the safety first door (child proof) thing on her door so she can't get out. This is what we have on her door.

We went straight to two twin beds in the same room... It's been two months and they love them! They never (knock on wood) get out when we put them down or the middle of night. I had so many fears of letting go of the cribs, but they absolutely love their big boy beds. We bought beds with headboard and footboard, put plywood down to support the mattress evenly, and to keep it lower to the ground for a while. In a year or so we will add the boxsprings to complete the "transition". Good Luck!

We pondered and pondered about what to do for our boys. My MNL works at Slumberland furniture, so she helpde us out. We went straight to twin beds. We got really nice mattresses and head boards and the boys love them. It was a bit pricey at probably $800 without our family discount, but we figure we will have these beds for a long time and many kids/people will use them. THey are a ;little tall, so each child has a little plastic step stool that they have to use to get in bed. We also have bedrails to keep them from falling out. My twins love crawling into them at night and I don't hear a peep out of them until morning. I actually laid in one when they first came and they are ultra comfortable. I am so happy with the decision we made to go straight to twin beds.

Thanks for the replies. I too would have gone right to twin beds but we were given our toddler beds as a gift :)
