Do you use soap, shampoo, the whole shabang? Right now we let them sit in warm water every night and "bathe" them about once a week. I'm thinking about "bathing" them more often. They seem to get more sleepy when they get the full scrub down. THANKS!

At that age, we bathed them every night in our the little baby bathtubs as part of their bedtime routine. One liked it and the other hated it. We moved to the kitchen sink eventually because they seemed to like that better.

Does giving them a bath help them sleep better? I have one little one that won't sleep at night. I will bath this baby all day long if it means I could get 4 hours of sleep straight through. The girls are 7 weeks old yesterday.

I give my twins boys a bath everynight as part of their bedtime routine. After which I rub them down with lotion, feed them and read them a book. Babies are very smart, repition is the key. A bath signifies to them that it is time to go to sleep for the night, not just a nap. And it also helps them to know what is coming next, lotion, warm jammies, food and sleep. It worked for my 15 month old daughter she has always loved getting ready for bed, and know that she talks, she'll cry and tell me when it's "nite nite" because she wants to go to bed so bad. So I am all for a bedtime routine. Hope that helps!

my boys always LOVED the bath so we do it everynight; i have the soap that is used for shampoo too. However, it DOES NOT help my boys sleep better. The routine though i think may make them sleepy and they do go down pretty easily but my boys wake often at night (whole other story!) Afeter bath, we do bottles in a dark quiet room.

baths used to be a 3 ring circus but now i keep the one who is not in the bath on the floor next to me with just their onsie on. i bring diapers, onesies, pj's all in the bathroom with me. I used to go from bathroom to bedroom carrying one baby and then going to get the other baby and then back into the bathroom again to start all over! It was crazy! It is so nice when my husband is home to help!

Just FYI, if your baby has skin problems, it may make them worse to use soap every night. When Sarah had some eczema, the ped told us not to bathe her every night -- or if we did, to just use warm water most nights, and soap only twice a week or so.

We do a bath as part of our bedtime routine and the babies love their baths. They can be so crabby and as soon as their butt hits the water they are calm. We wash all parts . . . especially their stinky butts! My husband is a fulltime fireman and my MIL normally comes and helps me with baths when he's at work. However, she is sick and I chose not to do baths alone on Monday and again tonight. I just take them into our room and do kind of the same routine minus the bath. They didn't sleep any differently Monday and hope the same happens again tonight. Mine just started sleeping through a couple of weeks ago . . . what a relief! I feel like a NEW woman! Although . . . I rarely sleep through . . . I still wake listening for them . . . hard habit to brake!

We do a bath every night. It started off in the hospital and we have continued it from there. We always do it after they have their last feed and they love it. Thats where we get our most giggles! x

    We bath everynight.

As I love to have a bath myself, once Ive been in for a while, I get DH to get the boys ready and they hop in the bath with me. They just lie back with their heads on me and relax. The love it because they have skin to skin contact. When we're finished, DH takes one at a time to dry and dress while I get myself sorted out, then we lie down on my bed and have a feed before they go into their own beds.

    Works a treat everynight!!!

I give them baths every night, but, I only use soap every other night. I'm afraid of their skin getting too dry. However, I do lube them up with lotion every night after their baths.
