where do you feed them. I use to hold one and have one in the Boppy but now that they are holding their own bottles I put them directly in their highchairs. (they usually wake up, get milk, and then eat solids) I am feeling a little guilty that I am not cuddling with them as much.

I either lay them on the ground, in the swing or in a bouncer while they eat

We have soothing motion gliders that we put them while they have their bottles. We don't have them gliding, but they're at just the right incline for them right now :)

we either put them in their bouncy chairs or lie them on the floor propped on the boppy pillows.....we have always done this, except for the last feeding of the night we hold them....don't feel bad!! you are a great mom and there are many babies out there that don't learn to hold their bottles until they are 1!!!! all of the moms in my playgroup are jealous of my girls (they are 6.5 months) b/c they can hold their own bottles.....

I put them in their highchairs too. They drink their bottles on their own while I get solids ready or do other things in the kitchen. It is so fantastic to have them hold it themselves. Please don't feel guilty...I'm sure they get pleanty of love and holding during the rest of the day. Hey...and no one hold me while I eat and I'm okay! [IMG]

My two won't hold their own bottle, so I'm curious how you got yours to? Mine both eat in the kitchen in their chairs. What's the secret?

I would just start handing the bottles to them and eventually they just took them and started sipping away. They use to have to be reclined a little but for the past month they are pros. I nursed my oldest (I am pumping for these guys) so the bottle thing was so new to me this time around.

We just lie them on the floor and hand it to them. Sometimes they get a little squirmy and I sit with them to make sure they eat but generally they are pretty good. I do rock them and give them their last bottle at night before bed.

I do the same they go straight into their high chairs and i hand them their bottles. I find it so much easier now that they are feeding them selves. I just need them to start using a cup and we will be sorted. x

I bet your are cuddling them plenty and just don't realize it. I hardly ever hold my girls anymore to feed them. In fact, they prefer I don't. They got those fisher price rocking chairs for Christmas that recline a litte...we put them in those and they drink while they watch Baby Einsteins...so not only am I not holding them, but I'm also encouraging them to watch tv! Funny that you posted this today. I have been using the EZ2Nurse pillow to feed mine and they have just gotten too squirmy. I have been using the high chairs for all feeds except first morning and before bed. This morning I gave up the morning feeding and put them in the chair and felt very guilty!

The boys didn't mind at all. I will still hold them at night with DH, but I will miss our morning cuddle time.

I usually cuddle during feedings for the 1st & last bottle of the day. During the day, they usually eat in the highchairs. DH is kind of a stickler for food anywhere but the kitchen, so we're hoping this will encourage that. (But he's not home right now & Zoe's is drinking her bottle behind me on the floor of the office! [IMG] )

I'm sure you're getting lots of cuddle time in still. It doesn't have to be during meals....but yeah, it's hard to give it up!

my boys lay on the floor and drink. it never even occured to me to put them in their highchairs for bottles! [IMG] usually i sit with them. nathan isnt as good at holding his as gabriel and sometimes i need to help him. but i sit, they put their feet up on me and i talk to them. it is nice though...for that 10 mins it takes to eat, i have time to run to the bathroom and i know they will stay in one place!
