    Hi....I am from "Expecting".....almost 32wks pg g/g twins :)

I am most likely having a c-section since Baby A has been anything but head down. I did not have one with my daughter.

I was wonder what type of underwear you wore afterwards (not including th mesh ones you get at the hospital). I want to finish packing my hospital bag here but don't know what kind to bring. Bikini, briefs, etc....? My sis had one and she the boy cuts, but those creep up places on me so not sure if those are the ones for me.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

I think I continued to wear my maternity underwear after the mesh. I am one who likes my stomach covered, so they were definitely the granny panties! :)

I wore my maternity granny panties that went way over my belly past my belly-button. Funny, I continued to wear them up until about two months ago because they were roomy and comfy

I found the bigger the undies the better. So granny panties all the way

I actually continued wearing the mesh ones from the hospital for quite awhile. They gave me A LOT of them. DH made from of me about them. ;)

Then I wore granny panties. I still have to wear undies that are pretty high in the front because I still have a lot of pain when anything is pressed against there.

I vote for getting some "granny panties". I hated having anything on my belly while pregnant and only wore low-rise panties in a (much) larger size while pregnant. They hit right at my c-section after the boys were born and bothered me. I nabbed a bunch of the mesh underwear from the hospital and just kept washing them and wearing them for a couple of weeks.

However, it only took a few weeks before my low-rise panties felt fine. So I wouldn't buy a ton of new big underwear if that is not what you normally like.

    Good luck!

The one thing I wish I had been told before my c-section was to take a pillow to hold to my belly anytime I was in the car (as a passenger obviously) - you have no idea how many bumps there are in the road until you have had major abdominal surgery.

My boys are 6 months older than your babies and I am STILL wearning my maternity!!! J/K. Mine are maternity but they are low cut. After the mesh ones from the hospital, I wore my maternity low cut underwear.

I washed and re-wore the mesh ones from the hospital as well. I had DH run out and get high cut panties, but they didn't feel good either. I probably wore the mesh ones for a good 2-3 weeks.

You definitely don't want bikini! I wore my maternity undies and still do. Before I got pregnant I didn't wear any, so it was difficult to find any that were comfy. My maternity undies went under the belly, but don't hit at my c-section scar. They are still so comfy!

Granny panties! I wore the ones from the last few weeks of pregnancy -- which was also convenient because it took a good 2 weeks for my stomach to go down noticeably (I looked almost 9 months pregnant for several days, because of the bloating and swelling). Once the incision had mostly healed, after a few weeks, I could go back to bikini underwear, although I didn't return to my pre-pregnancy size until about 6 months postpartum.

It was a happy day when I threw out all those granny undies!

I also have remained in maternity underwear. It is really uncomfortable to have anything rubbing on your incision or your lower abdomen. Plus my belly was just shaped so weird for a while afterward that nothing else would have been comfortable.

I bought granny briefs and wore those. Right after I came home I wore the light support underwear (like girdle underwear) because it didn't hurt as bad to stand up.

That is what I did. I got the Hanes Her Way cotton high-cut briefs (6 in a pack from Target) in one size larger. They were comfy and went up over my bulge of new loose skin, as well as my incision. It kind of just held everything in!

Old Navy has good low-rise maternity underwear. My girls are almost 5 months and I am still wearing them! Oh dear!

This is EXACTLY what I did. Same kind and everything for both pregnancies.

I got friendly w/the nurses and scored a bunch of the mesh ones i LOVED them, oddly enough. Still have them, although i stopped wearing htem a few weeks ago; now i'm mostly in maternity thongs (I can't stand panty lines!) and some of my pre-preg panties.

but - i say stay w/the mesh for as long as possible', you'll be blown away at how comfy they are.

ditto to holding a pillow - and, some people say don't drink anything carbonated before your c-section because of the gas.
    Good luck!

Pre-pregnancy I wore only thongs. During pregnancy I wore only thongs as well, just slightly bigger.
However, after the c-section, those mesh panties were my only comfort. I wore them for 2 weeks, then bought some nice soft cotton hi-cut panties, and also bikini ones. Since I pretty much hate anything but thongs but really needed more I bought the "Barely there" brand from JC Penneys. They are very soft and extremely LIGHT, which I like.
Now going on to 6 weeks, I *think* I'm ready for thongs again. I just bought some very soft cotton ones.

After the c-section I wore the mesh underwear from the hospital for about 3 weeks, then granny panties for a few more weeks. I was grateful to even have time to shower for the first couple of months, let alone wear nice underwear. :)

I agree with the granny panties! As ugly as they are, you will love them...hehehe! You don't want bikini or regular briefs b/c they will more than likely sit too close to your incision and could irritate it. You also don't want something too tight.

I wore my maternity undies. They were 1) comfy 2) since these were my last kids I didn't care if they got ruined because I was going to toss them out eventually anyway.

I wore the hospital ones for about 6 weeks  Dh was not too pleased. :p They were soooo comfy! They washed better than I expected, too. I made sure I got a whole bunch before I left the hospital. After that I fit back into my regular bikinis, now I'm in them and my low-rise bikinis. I never wore maternity.

yep - big granny panties until my incision healed - you do not want anything that will hit on your incision and I bought cotton undies - Hanes her way undies - they were great because the material did not snag my staples. my incision had to be restitched at 3 months and the granny panties were nice then too!!!!!!

Thanks everyone!! I pretty much wear granny ones now so I will buy a pack of those. I was afraid with the mesh that they would snag on the incision, but if it is staples then I don't think I will need to worry.
