Just curious for those of you that delivered big babies how were they measuring at ultrasounds?

I had an ultrasound today to recheck my amniotic fluid (as it was previously generous) and also to check the position of my placenta and ensure that its moved away from the cervix.
While I was there I asked the doc (he is a sono doc) if he would measure the baby. He agreed and as of right now this baby is measuring in the 90th percentile and about week, week & a half ahead....

Im a very petite person, and delivered decent size twins for my own size- DH and my dad were both BIG babies, Im wondering if this one will be BIG or if its just ahead in growth for now. I passed my GD test no problem so that's not the issue. I see my OB tomorrow so we'll see what she says Im just wondering about the rest of you :)

Well at my 20 week appointment with Jubilee is was measuring right on for her due date. I don't ever remembering them telling me what % she was in at that point. I was on the high end of normal on my diabetes test. When Jubilee was measured 5 days before she was born, I remember them saying at that point she was measuring ahead by a week or two, but that u/s are not as accurate at the end. She ended up being 10lbs 11oz. I am 5'2" and was a 6lb. baby myself.

As for my other big babies, they measured right on for their due dates as well. And I didn't have a later u/s with them.

All three of my babies (the twins and little one I'm carrying now) have measured big. Now, as I neared my due date their "measurements" slowed a bit since they ran out of room and they were way off towards the end of my pregnancy with DS. He was 5.4 and they estimated he was 5.8 at 32 or 34 weeks. DD was born at 7.2 though and her measurements were pretty much on track. I was a big baby and so was my Dad, 8.6 and 8.8 respectively. (My grandmother only gained 18 pounds with him!) This baby is measuring about a week to a week and a half ahead. So maybe that trend will continue, maybe not. I can't wait to see at the 20 week scan.

I don't ever remember having percentages for my boys, or for Annabella. I don't remember the weights for the boys up to the end. All I know is they were 6lbs 13oz and 6lbs 3oz. As for Annabella...She always measured right on target-but weight was a bit higher. Supposedly.

At my 36/37 weeks u/s, she measured 7lbs 9oz. The Dr said that was big-as I still had two weeks to go! She said she expected as much, as I had really good sized twins.

Well-two weeks later Annabella entered the world. Weighing... 7lbs 9oz! LOL!

u/s measurements were close with the twins (they were 7lbs each at 37 weeks). Never had any with Becca after the 20 week one. She was 10.13. I'm preparing for another 10 lb-er just to get myself "psyched up". "Big babies" to me are over 10 lbs. Under that I imagine would be a piece of cake :)

I was never told percentiles. I had big twins (7#7 & 7#11). I got my due date with a dating ultrasound at 8 weeks. From about 3 months on, he measured a week ahead. I also had excess fluid. He came out at 10lbs! HTH!

Mine always underestimated. While I was in labor they estimated DS1 at 7.5 lbs. He was 9.5 lbs.

They told me the girls would be small, 5 lbs. They were 6,9 and 6,13. I don't remember if they gave an estimate for DS2 (I had midwives that time).

    I am 5'1".
