If you've already had multiple c-sections does the doctor cut right over the scar or is the new cut slightly off from the original. I was just wondering about the scar tissue. Does it make it harder to cut over the same spot?

I've only had one c-section, but also had an ovarian cyst removed when I was a teenager. I later asked my OB how she did the c-section with my scar from my cyst surgery and she said she cut right over it. There was 14 years in between the two though.

  4. My Dr. cut right over the scar from my previous c-section....

My incision was right over the other one. I have a vertical though, that runs from my belly button down.

So.... so far it sounds like cut on the dotted line! :p

Interesting... it's something that I've been thinking about lately. Not that it really matters (twin skin covers the scar anyway) but I was just curious. Thanks for your answers!

YEP!!! I have had 6 c-sections and the doctor just cuts in the EXACT same place each time. There is scar tissue present (for my 4th c-section, the doctor told my hubby...while I was being cut.......that he had better open a Sears charge account because we would need a saw for the next c-section). I have had two c-sections since then, with the last one being the twins.

He did have to cut it alittle wider for my 4th also because he was 8lbs 11 1/2 oz......my biggest baby to date..

The same doctor did my first 5 c-sections, and he was supposed to do the 6th, but was on vacation when the twins decided to jump ship.

I have two seperate incisions due to my first scar tissue being very hard to cut through. She tried to use the same incision but couldn't get through it.

I have had 2 c-sections..one in Sept. 03 and the other in March 05. They cut over the same scar and I had the "bikini" cut! You can barely even see it...even after 2. The second one was a lot easier to heal up and get around with also! All the ladies I know had it easier with their 2nd time around. It's still a little numb in some spots even after 2 years.

I have had 3 c-sections, all right over the same incission on my stomach, well pretty close to it anyways, one was a little higher than the others. THe doctors were expecting alot of scar tissue this last time but ended up having hardly at all.n My uterus though had a vertical incission the first time, horizontal the last 2 times

I haven't had 2 c/s..but my SIL has had 3... each time they cut in the same general location, but pulled her skin down so she would only have one scar...make sense??... A friend of mine heard this and was so thrilled...she was on her second pg, and she hated her scar from her first c/s... I think it motivated her to go for a c/s on round two instead of a VBAC! I guess I'd be more concerned about the internal scarring though... but you'd have to ask your doctor about that...I'm sure each woman is a little different too.

wow... ihavesevensons.... six c/s!!!!! WOW!!! I'll have to tell my other friend about you... she's on baby #3 and c/s #3, and they want one more...and she was worried about having 4 c/s. Guess it hasn't been a problem for you.

When we decided to get pregnant with our 3rd, we asked the OB first and got the go ahead......then each time since then, I have asked him for the go ahead and each time, it was a go......LOL........my hubby jokes that I am the only woman that asks another mans opinion on having another baby......LOL........we are kicking around the idea of having another baby too!!!! The doctor said to go ahead.

I've had 2, and the first one was emergency so it was bigger and according to the 2nd Dr, higher. But the 2nd Dr cut right on the 1st scar, just not as big. It healed up just fine! She did cut out some scar tissue though. Oh, and she said she had seen a woman with 2 scars, one above the other! She said it was too weird.
