How long has/did it take you to lose the weight??? How did you go about doing it??

For me, I was put on light bedrest (never strict) at 22 weeks for PTL. I gained a total of 76lbs. throughout the pregnancy. I was more concerned with putting weight on my babies so they'd be born healthy than I was with what the after effects of so much weight gain would do to me...

I'm a trained personal trainer, and know my stuff about nutrition, the problem is finding the TIME to do everything! I know how I *should* be eating, but I just don't have the time to make healthy meals or snacks. And I just can't find the time to get on the treadmill either. Every time I try doing any of the above, someone is crying to either eat, be changed or just be held...... It seems more often than not I will be grabbing something QUICK, usually a granola bar, PB&J sandwich or some other sandwich, and sometimes just a piece of bread or cheese..... I need a personal chef!!!

I gained 69lbs with my pregnancy. I was 105 to begin with, so I had more to gain. It's all off now - it was gone by about 8 months, but I still have a little "flab" left. The twin skin looks better everyday, but it is still a little loose. I just keep rubbing the coco butter lotion on. I go to the gym about 3 to 4 times per week - lift a little weights and do aerobics for cardio or walk on the tredmill. I think if I were more dedicated at the cardio part the loose skin would be toned by now......

I was also on bedrest so gained 60lbs and so far have 28lbs to lose, i only lost 2 lbs in the last 2 months, like you, when there's time to do something, someone wants me and when its really quiet I just have a quick nap!! I'm a performer~ live musician~ and rely on having a good figure so this is quite hard for me too. All I've been told is PATIENCE and that just a little activity is good - I sometimes put music on and dance/exercise in front of the girls, they like looking at me and I get a minor workout - better than none. Also taking them out for a walk is a good bit of exercise. Keep us posted with what you do to lose the weight!

I gained around 50 pounds with the baby weight and fertility drugs. I have lost about half of it. I find that it is hard to get out and exercise like I use to. Now that I am back to teaching, my nibbling has stopped but, as soon as I leave work and get home it is touch up cleaning the house, take the dogs out, make dinner, laundry, DH comes home with the sweet ones and then we keep their routine going. So, I find it is hectic. I really am just concerned about the flabby stomach area (loose skin) because I was stretched out so far with the wee ones. I am just trying to be patient. It took over a year to gain the weight with 9 months of injections and medical procedures (3 AI's and 1 IVF) and then the actual pregnancy. I will get it off!

I gained 55 lbs, I have about 12 lbs to go. I've stalled! And I know its not progressing because I haven't added in exercise...well, that & I tend to eat whatever is handy (& what's handier then sweets, LOL?). I just can't find the time to fit exercise in yet. Actually I could, but napping & being lazy wins out when ever the babies give me down time. I have a feeling I won't be hitting the gym until school starts back up...so that gives me the summer to start some sort of cardio routine in my basement.

I gained 70 lbs in my pregnancy, i've lost all but 20lbs. I didn't do much at first, but now I've been pushing myself. We got a treadmill so I'm walking everyday for 20-30min and trying to do some crunches and leg lifts. We got the tread mill little over a month ago and I've lost 12.5lbs since them. My goal is to lose the last 20 lbs by the time summers over with, then I still have 30 more to get to my ideal weight. :)

I gained about 15 pounds during a 9 month period with fertility procedures, so when I finally got pregnant, I was already weighing more than I wanted. I added another 75 pounds during pregnancy (oh yes I did). I never wanted to know what I weighed during pregnancy and only found out after when they were telling me that I lost over 50 pounds the first 3 weeks due to all of the fluid retention!! I hit a weight-loss roadblock and didn't lose anything else for the next 6 months. It was a miserable time for me and I refused to buy clothes in a bigger size, so I would still wear my maternity clothes as "punishment". UGH.

I am happy to say that I started Slim4Life back in December and have successfully lost 40 pounds and am back to pre-pregnancy-pre-fertility weight. I am wearing summer clothes that I haven't seen since the summer of 2004!!!

I gained almost 80 lbs, I still have another 10 to lose. Bfing has really helped. Right now I am not too concerned about it, the weight will come off eventually.

I was quite thin prior to pregnancy and gained 75 pounds during pregnancy - and I was not on bedrest. I just ate my way through the whole pregnancy haha. I've lost it all except for about 12 pounds. I lost 50 pounds within the first two weeks, but I had to work to get the rest off. Mainly I try to eat low carb, low fat and watch my calories. I haven't been able to figure out how to fit regular exercise into my schedule yet. Hopefully when I do, the rest will come off!

I was 60-70 lbs overweight when I got pregnant, I like to blame it on the fertility drugs and the stress ;) I was on hospital bedrest for almost 3 months, gave birth at 32 weeks, and still managed to gain an additional 60 lbs!! Now, they boys are 10 months old and I have lost all of the pregnancy weight, plus an additional 50 lbs!! I attribute my success to Weight Watchers and working out 5 times a week. After the morning feeding, I either take the boys out for a brisk walk, or I put them in their exersaucers and get on the treadmill for 30 minutes. It is not always easy but I do what I can, when I can.

Me too, I gained about 76lbs and have about 10lbs left to lose, but I was really skinny before my IVF and pg so even if I keep these extra lbs that would be okay (not that I am going to ;) )

I gained around 60 lbs, lost about 10 of it, and now I am pregnant again! Doesn't look to good with me losing any of it.

I was quite overweight before being pregnant, so I could stand to lose more than what I gained from pregnancy.

I gained around 60 lbs, was about 127 at the beginning. I'm not sure, but I think I have about 5 more pounds to lose. The numbers don't bother me much, but I would really like for my stomach to be flatter (wouldn't we all!). My stomach muscles still haven't closed back together & I don't know whether I should expect them to ever be close to normal again. No time really for going to the gym, which I used to do regularly, but the babies & I are signed up for Mommy & Me Aerobics starting at the end of the month & a class called Mummy's Tummies, so we'll see! :unknw:

I lost 35 lbs in the first 2-3 weeks after delivery, then started weight watchers & have lost 13 lbs since March 26th. I still have about 20 lbs I'd like to lose. I had gained some before the pregnancy b/c of fertility drugs, etc.

I gained 75 lbs with the girls. I had lost 55 lbs of it by 6 months old without any exercise or anything and then plateaued. Much exercise and a good diet didn't change that weight. Based on past experience, I think my body has an "ideal" weight and it stays there whether I'm exercising/on a good diet or not.

With this recent pregnancy, I gained 40 lbs and about 30 of it is already gone at 5 weeks.

I gained nearly 70 and it took me close to TWO years, but I was able to get it all off. It was hard for me in the beginning to do anything for myself, including eating right. I lost the first 45 within three months and the rest took another year and a half. And that was by eating super-healthy salad-heavy lunches, and limiting portion size of fats and starches during dinner. Nothing major, just some modification of behaviors. I had been a "this is heaven, I can eat as much as I want" pregnant person, and paid the price!

But all's well that ends well, right?

Take your time, and don't be too hard on yourself, it'll come off if you just watch it.

I gained 53 pounds when I was pregnant. I lost about 38 pounds within the first 2-3 months after having them, then plateaued. I did Weight Watchers online to get rid of the remaining 15 pounds. It took me about 3 months or so I think. I was a little apprehensive at first about having to track EVERYTHING that I ate, but it definately makes you think before you eat and I believe is what ultimately helped me. I also worked out 2-3 times a week (maybe 20-30 minutes) when I was on Weight Watchers, but didn't keep it up when the girls went from 3 naps to 2. Since then I've somehow managed to lose another 10 pounds without trying...guess its running after 2 toddlers!

I gained about 75 lbs. I was a size 4/6 and now am between an 8-10. I have 15-17 lbs of the 75 left to lose. I can't really change my diet as I bf exclusively, so I workout. I workout during their morning nap and try to walk outside with the babies about 4 times week. It's taking a while to lose all the weight. I only lost about 30 lbs at my 6 week pp appointment. I was pretty surprised about that but the weight is coming off slowly. I'm not too concerned. My husband is always reminding me to be patient as it took 9 months to put the weight on and I should wait at least 9 months pp to take it off.

I gained 90 lbs with our boys! Yes...that's right, 90 lbs! I was 125 to begin with, but had a TON of fluid retention. Gross! I was able to shed 75 lbs the 2 weeks after I had them, but am now stuck with my last 7 to loose to get to my pre-pregnancy weight. I'm having a hard time fitting in any excercise and I agree with all the other mommies who said it's lots easier to grab a snack here and there that isn't necessarily healthy! I'd love to eat healthier but have a hard time finding the time to cook or prepare it!! I've started to fit in crunches when I can (like when the boys are on their activity mat on the floor, I'll lay down next to them and do them) or if someone's crying, I'll do lunges to make my way over to them instead of just walking. Every little bit helps, I hope!

I gained 70 lbs (from 130 to just over 200). It took a while to come off -- I think when the girls were about 4 months old, I still looked 5 months pregnant. (I wasn't actually weighing myself at that point -- it was just depressing.) But it got a lot easier to eat healthy when they started sleeping well at night, because DH and I actually had time to cook & eat, rather than grabbing whatever was the fastest.

We also got in the habit very early (like when the girls were 8 weeks old) of going for loooong walks with the stroller. Other than that, I didn't really try to lose weight -- I still get almost no exercise (unfortunately) and just eat like a normal person. But by about 9 months postpartum, I was down to my pre-pg weight -- actually a little below, I'm at 125 now.

However, my belly still looks slightly pregnant, thanks to diastisis recti (separation of the ab muscles). And the twin skin will simply never go away. That really bugs me, but at least the rest of my body looks normal now.

I've been actively working to lose weight since October (girls were born in August). I gained 65 lbs this pregnancy, but had kept 10 lbs after the last pregnancy, so I had 75 lbs to lose altogether. I lost 40 lbs immediately post-pardom from water retention, the babies' weights, ... but these last 35 lbs have been BRUTAL! I started doing South Beach Diet phase 2 (since I was nursing) in October, then switched to phase 1 for 2 weeks when I stopped nursing a month ago. Losing weight got a LOT easier once I got the girls on a nap schedule b/c I use their naptimes as preparation/exercise time. To eat healthy, I make my lunch the night before--either leftovers from dinner or a salad--so it's waiting for me at lunchtime the next day. I eat scrambled or hardboiled eggs for b-fast, so I usually make enough for myself & my son in the morning while the girls are drinking their bottles. I get dinner prepared during the girls' 2nd nap and then throw it in the oven at the appropriate time. It's hard to find the time to eat right, but it's SO much easier if you schedule everything. So far, I'm down 18 lbs and I have 17 more to go. (7 lbs from the twins and 10 lbs from my son) I am doing strength training 2-3 x/week in our basement during the girls' 1st nap & running 3x/week outside when my husband gets home from work and the kids are all in bed. (often I end up running in the dark at 9pm) Or I try to run with the double jogger while my son is in preschool on the 2 days/ week he goes, but it is SO hard to push the double jogger while running! I just figure I get a better workout from it and push through it (although I do less milage on those days).

Good luck! You will end up finding a routine that works for you eventually! It took me several months to get to where I have control over our schedule enough to get in "me" time, and that's what you need to succeed with diet & exercise. You'll do it! B)

I gained 82lbs with my girls and had them at 33.5 weeks....I shutter to think how big I would have been if I had gone full-term or close to it!!! I did have a lot of fluid retention and probably lost about 40lbs within the first 3 weeks.....the rest has come off and even more to my delight!! I would say it all came off by the time the girls were 8 months old and then more kept coming off....so I am now smaller than I was before I had them and the are 10 months old.....I was diagnosed with PPD when they were around 7 months old and put on a low dose of Zoloft and I was actually scared that it would make me gain weight (I know that is vain, but I can't help it) but it didn't. I am not doing any exercising (besides running around after the girls) except I take the girls on walks and I don't eat fast food - only b/c I don't have the time to go get it.....I just eat "normal" I guess you would say....I would not stress out about it....I really think it will come off in time.....

I gained 57 pounds with the girls (I started at 134). I lost about 30 pounds in the few weeks after their birth. Last time I weighed myself, at their 6 month appt., I was about 5 pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight. I wish that I had time to workout - but I think that the weight loss is from going up and down the stairs 600 times a day and getting out for walks. I wish that I could way that I eat well - but I don't. Never have probably never will. I feel incredibly lucky that I have been able to loose the weight and that I don't have stretch marks - at the rate I was growing I thought I was in BIG trouble!

I was overweight to begin with but had recently lost 40 pounds. Then when I got pregnant I gained that 40 pounds back (well atleast that time it was baby and not just fat.) I had lost 24 pounds by the time we got home from the hospital (2 days). Then at my six weeks post-partum checkup I had lost the rest and was back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Since then I have lost about 10 more pounds and am trying to lose a bit more but I too tend to just grab something quick to eat and that darn bag of chips on the counter always seems to win. I'm sure I will lose it when the babies start moving around more but for now I am kinda okay with where I'm at. Also DH doesn't seem to mind since I am already 50 pounds lighter than I was when he married me and I have had 2 babies so I'm okay with where I'm at.

The best advise I can give is to invest in a double stroller If you do not already have one and go for walks with the babies. I plan on starting to do that very soon since the weather is starting to get nice here.

I gained 58lbs starting at 115 and ending at 173. I have 10 more to go. Honestly, I havent really tried to even lose the weight. I lost 45 lbs within 6 weeks of delivering them and was able to go back into my pre-pregnancy jeans and clothes and I have lost a few more within the past few weeks. I have always drank water so that helps alot. Everyday that it is warm enough we take the girls on a 2 mile walk and I plan to do that as often as we can.

I gained 60. I still have 20 to go. I have had 20 to go for awhile now. It is stuck!! I do pilates 2 times a week and just started a cardio class one day a week. I can not see results. It is so easy to eat throughout the day when you are home all day. My bad thing to eat is cereal. I dont just have a serving...I pour a nice size bowl. ANn for some reason, I think it is ok to eat ice cream at night shortly before going to bed. Oh, and my new thing since I have been home is to go to the bakery and get cookies so those now are on my counter by the coffee machine! WHAT??? And I wonder why that 20 wont come off!

I gained almost 60lbs, started out at 118. Most of it was water and by the time I left the hospital I was 40lbs lighter but I'm still holding onto about 8lbs. My body will never be the same though and my gym doesn't take infants until they are 6 months old but I'm thinking of switching to a gym that takes them at 3 months.

Well, I gained 77lbs with the boys. I lost the first 35lbs right after delivery, then I slowly lost the rest through BFing, then joining weight watchers and working out 3X a week after the boys had a good routine going and they were down for bed by 7pm. Now even after losing all the weght my clothes still don't fit the same and I still have some loose twin skin on the belly. Does pregancy ever change bodies!
