My son Ryan is a "happy puker" - literally he can smile and puke all over me. My ped just put him on zantax for reflux symptoms (puking and congestion) but he's gaining weight, so she's not worried. I'm not worried about his health either, I'm just tired of doing laundry.

For those of you who had a happy puker (or two), at what age did they outgrow it?

Luke was a huge puker. He wasn't really happy, he was quite cranky but the cranky didn't seem related to the puking & he always gained weight well so he was never treated for reflux. Anyway, babies who have issues with spitting up generally start to outgrow it when they start being able to sit up more. When their upper body strength gets to the point that they can hold themselves upright a bit better. So, usually around 6 or 7 months things start to improve. Until then, you're right, it's just a lot of laundry!!

You won't like my response :p

My first ds was a "happy spitter", around 1 yr he finally stopped puking up solids, and at 18 months on the nose was the last time he puked up liquid. He always gained weight fine, but after a year if he drank more than a few sips of liquid, he's spit it right back up again still.

I hope yours stops much much earlier than mine did!

This made me laugh - happy puker. I have one - he is still puking. We are working on cutting back his medication but still has reflux and is small so we need to try and keep as much in as possible.

Ruby seems more or less fixed at 6mths old but Amber has taken a turn for the worst lately so i'm still waiting and washing for her.

My girls have surprisingly seemed to slow down on the "happy puking" lately. It's nice because I don't go through as many bibs. The still puke here and there, but it's just not as often and sometimes I forget to put a bib on and it's not a big deal.

All of my babies were pukers to varying degrees. Jake took the longest, at 14 months, to finally stop. The others were around 9-12 months.

Jack stopped spitting up at around 6 months, but Nate is *still* spitting up. He usually has at least 2 outfit changes a day. He's gotten a bit better in the last couple of weeks, but he puked on his feet this morning while playing.

I think I'll need new carpets by the time he stops!

My girls get a bath every night because they are happy spitters. It's literally everywhere. I am constantly doing laundry...ugh! They are 6 months and it's getting better, but I can tell it is no where near being over.

I was just about to ask this question. Mine are sitting up, and are nearly 6 months, but still spew everywhere. My DH calls them little slugs since they leave a trail where ever they go.
