I had a preventive cerclage done at 12 weeks because I usually have my singletons at 37 weeks, I dilatate very fast, so my Dr. didn´t want to risk pre-term labor.... so my question is, do thet still measure your cervix? I know they can´t measure dilatation, but can they see if the cervix has shortened??? I don´t get internals, but I have an ultrasound on thursday and wanted to know if I should ask about effacement. I have had many BH contractions lately and I want to know if it is affecting my cervix...
    Thanks!

I had an emergency cerclage at 18 weeks, went on bed rest and was still measured through the rest of my pregnancy.

I had an emergency cerclage at 16 weeks, and was measured regularly via T/V U/S after that until around 29 weeks, then they started doing internals (ouch).

I had a cerclage done at 19 weeks and bedrest until delivery at 35 weeks.
After the cerclage, my cervix was checked by transvaginal ultrasound every two weeks until I hit 30 weeks.
Then, it was just growth checks on the babies.

    Thanks everyone!
I guess I´ll have to ask about my cervix being checked, I know my Dr. keeps an eye on the stitches through regular ultrasounds, but I´ve never had transvaginals since the beginning of my pregnancy... wonder why
