When did you transition them to their crib? and How did you do it?

I am putting them down in their crib at about 10pm but they wake up at 12am and then go in the swing after that.. They both have reflux.. so i think it feels better for them to be "sitting" (angled) upright. I dont want them to sleep in their swings forever.. and i know the longer i wait the harder its going to be....

    How did you do it?

ETA: We dont actually swing them at nite..(only everyonce in a while when they wont go back to sleep..) They just sleep there..

We just did it cold turkey at about 3 months. Ours had reflux too and we used the wedges and sleep positioners in the crib.

Zack slept in his bouncer until he was 7 months old. He then went right to the crib.

Our girls have reflux plus Annalise wasn't a good sleeper. We had Annalise in their from 3 weeks to 12 weeks and Evie was in there for a while, too. We did naps until about 14 weeks maybe? Anyway, I just decided one day that they needed to be in their cribs and put them down there. It didn't change the amount of sleep they got. Things went much smoother than I thought!

Mine slept in the swings for naps until they no longer were sleeping more than 15 minutes or so at a time, about 3 1/2 months. We transitioned to cribs which only took a day or two and they were sleeping 2-3hrs at a time and I had to wake them up!

Ours were in swings/car seats until 4 1/2 months. When we put them in the crib, we used the sleep positioner and they slept on their sides. At that time, we began to sleep train them by patting/hushing them to sleep.

We went cold turkey at 4 months. I went to my mom's for a week and didnt feel like loading up both swings AGAIN... so without it even being an option we did it. The 1st few nights I was just up a few more times with them, extra nursings and I used the music on their mobile to help them get back to sleep. I also propped our crib mattress and slept them side by side, to help with the reflux and to have the comfort of a sister near by!

My twins slept in the swings during their naps until about 4 months. They always slept in their cribs during the night although they occasionally went into their bouncers during the 1st month if I was having a hard time getting them to sleep.

Transitioning them to their cribs for naps was actually pretty easy. I did one baby at a time. I started putting them into their cribs instead of the swings at nap time. I've never rocked my girls to sleep so getting them to fall asleep was easy, it was keeping them asleep. If they woke up earlier than usual, I would give them back their pacifier, tuck them back in and leave. I would try this a few times. If they didn't fall back asleep, I would put them back in their swing so they would still get a decent nap and we would try again during the next nap. One of the twins transitioned quickly, the other took about 2 weeks. I just didn't let it bother me if they ended up back in the swing. With my oldest child, I was always trying to force her into things, this time around with the twins, I let them transition at their own pace. It has been a lot less stressful and a lot LESS crying!

We transitioned from all naps in the swings/strollers/someone's arms to all naps in the cribs at 9/10 weeks. By 12 weeks the swings were in storage. I never thought we'd kick our swing habit. Evan had to sleep in his swing beside his crib for the first few days of this transition, but it worked.

3-4 months, first for naps, and then nighttime.
