    quick re-cap:

I was getting migraines that were lasting for days, and nothing would releive them, so I did ask for Fioricet, which they gave me...it does almost nothing! It takes the edge off, but I have to lay down, because it makes me woozy..like my body is floating. So I only take it at night when DH is around. So the headaches went away for a while but now they are back, I am on my third day of this one...here are some things I've noticed that trigger them:

    1. if I don't eat regularly...but once I feel it coming on, if I eat then..it's too late...it doesn't help, neither does caffiene.
    2. The weather (weird?) if it's raining...
    3. Lack of sleep (either beacuse the kids are up or my head hurts so bad I can't sleep

They feel less in the AM, but as the day goes on, it litterally feels like someone is jabbing an ice pick in my eye...I just don't know what to do...do I suck it up...call the OB (again!), beg DH to come home (honestly, sometimes he's more of a pain than a help..he really does try..we just have our routine since he's almost never home)...

You girls always have good ideas, so I thought I'd try you first!

    Thanks!

I got migraines for a few weeks around 18-21 weeks or so during this pregnancy. I had never really been prone to them. It was miserable. I made sure to try adn keep my stomach full at all times by just snacking all day long. I kept those 6 oz. cans of Mt. Dew (which I NEVER drink...yuk) with me at all times to ward off the headache with the caffeine. Sounds like you are doing all this stuff though, so I would definitely check with your OB. The day before my water broke...I was sick and had a migraine for 18+ hours. I ended up in L&D thinking it was high BP and it wasn't. I had to get a shot of Nubain to finally make it go away. I hope it gets better for you and you start to get some relief. I really feel for what you are going through.

I would call the OB again. They should be able to change you to another med to try. I hope you get relief soon. Hunger also trigger mine.

I am having those too. nothing brings relief. I had migraines when pg with the twins that were caused by the fluorescent lights in my office, so now i have a lamp, but im still having them. let me know if you find something that works.

I was prescribed a medicine and it contained caffiene. So once I figured out Dr. Pepper helped better than the medicine I just drank a couple of those every day.... worked like a charm.

I have a horrible time with migraines--always have. They are always worse for me during pregnancy. I had an MRI after the girls were born to rule out anything unusual going on with my brain. I've been prescribed different meds and nothing helps. I'm pretty useless when a migraine hits. I've found (at least while pregnant) that if I eat small meals and snack all day and make sure to stay very well hydrated then the migraines are less frequent. I understand what you mean about the weather. When the weather drastically changes then I'm down for the day.

It wouldn't hurt to call your OB and see if they can give you something different. :hug99:
