We just introduced foods and I am having a hard time finding the time to do it. Here is what our schedule looks like:

    8:00 Nurse
    9:30 Nap
    12:00 Nurse
    1:00 Solids
    1:30 Nap
    3:00 Nurse
    4:00 Solids
    5:00 Nap
    6:30 Nurse
    7:30 Small Nurse/Bed

I feel like I am stuffing my children!!! They are eating 7 times. Right now they are just taking bites with solids. I was going to cut them down to 4 nursings... but how do you fit solids in?

A friend was telling me that she only nursed once a day when they were my boys age and she just fed them solids all the other times...

what are you guys opionions and schedules look like?

Super Baby Food Link i HIGHLY recommend this book for making your own baby food, figuring out feeding/nursing schedules, homemade toys, projects , cleaners, you name it! Its the best money Ive spent!

Your babies are 7 months so heres an excerpt from that book : Feeding your baby at 7 months

    Hope this helps!

Are they refusing any of the nursing sessions? I think your schedule looks good. I wouldnt see where you can drop one right now unless they are really eating a good lunch of solids. But at 7 months I think I would rather them nurse than eat a full lunch. I think once they start refusing a feeding is when I would tweak my schedule to drop a session. GL!

I too have the Super Baby Food book. I like it, but dont love it. It does have some nice tips.

Your milk is what the babies need most. AT 7 months their main nutrition should be your milk. You should be nursing and then feeding solids within 1/2 - 1 hour.

It will take them a while to get used to the foods and they will naturally progress to eating more and drinking less. Personally, I would move the second feed to dinnertime (after their third nap) and push back the 3:00 nurse to 4:00. Then, instead of the 6:30 nursing, I would make the 7:30 one a full nurse. Do they still need the third nap? My kids never took a regular third nap...they sometimes did a cat nap, but that's about it.

Mine are too young so I have no experience, but I agree with this pp. Check out this link...it gives good info about BFing and introducing solids. Your schedule sounds great to me...hope we can do it when these guys get there!
