So my 2 questions are...how much solids should my boys be eating? They currently share a 2.5oz veggie container and fruit container at night and are downing 5-8oz per bottle 4-5x a day. It seems like a lot to me? Maybe I just have good eaters? or should I be starting to introduce the a.m. solids?

and sleeping... they are both rolling over and sleeping on their bellies. My sis' dr told her to turn my nephew back on his back if he does this but this disturbs their sleep not to mention they STTN and we hardly ever check on them after we go to bed. I figured once they could roll it wasn't as big of a deal to let them sleep on their bellies. Also what about stuff animals and blankets in the cribs? They like to fall asleep with those little blankets that have teddy bear heads but we have been taking them out after they fall asleep...when is it safe to let them have them all night?

My twins started solids little after 6 month, very slowly. Enjoy that you have great eaters. My guys were good eaters until they hit 9 months and now DS is eating better (around 15-20 oz of formula per day, DD- absolutely hates formula, refuses to drink so I am substituting with yogurt by adding few scoops of powder. I am having very hard time right now.

In regards of toys, blankets-I had them in their cribs since birth, they love to roll in them, cover their faces etc. I do check on them at night when I wake up myself.

The do sound like good eaters! Awesome!

I started solids at 4 months, with just dinner, and by 6 months we were up to 3 meals a day. If you think they are ready, and you are ready, go ahead and add a 2nd meal. You just want to make sure their formula intake stays the same at this age because it is most important nutrition-wise.

The general rule of thumb, is that if they are rolling onto their tummies themselves, they are fine to sleep on their tummies. I would leave them be.

I think I let them have a blanket/lovey around 8 months or so.

I would have them on 3 meals a day if they are eating that much.

Once our girls started rolling over, there was no point in trying to keep them off of their bellies and they do just fine that way. They also sleep with the loveys and they usually have thrown them across the crib by morning time. One daughter likes to suck on her lovey now. They won't suffocate on them. I would leave them in their with them and don't worry about rolling them over.

I agree with the PPs about the solids.

As for soft toys, mine have always had them in their cots. I leave small ones and they have 2 each. Both go to sleep with their little blankies (they also have animal heads on) and we´ve never had a problem.

As for rolling on their tummies, then I would leave them unless they protest. My DS sleeps better face down than on his back.

I don't have any new advice on the solids other than you may want to try oatmeal cereal made w/ formula.

As for blankets/toys, we started with blankets earlier than we were "supposed to", but they were cold! We have also given them their Ookies (like a lovey) since they went into the cribs around 5 months. I slept with them (the Ookies) then used them to help the boys transition to cribs. The NICU gave them to us so I didn't see the harm in it. I didn't let them have stuffed animals though until after a year.

Mine have about 3 tsp of dry oatmeal mixed with formula and they split a 1st stage foods container of fruit for breakfast. Then they have the same oatmeal combo with veggie for dinner. The rest of the day is formula.

As far as rolling over I think it's ridiculous for DR's to tell parents to turn a baby back over once they can roll. You'd be sitting by their bed all night long. Once mine started flipping intentionally they started sleeping on their tummies or sides and have slept better ever since. I figure if they can get that way on their own they are ok. I was a freak about how they slept before this. ;) They also now sleep with a "burp cloth" that they have deemed their lovey (thank goodness Grandma made tons of these!) and then the lovey that we bought them (the soft blankie with the animal head) and also a little doll. This just started when they hit about 5 months. I'm getting more and more comfortable with it the more they can move and they sleep better with this also.
