Ok, I posted about Hayden breaking out last week with size 4 Cruisers. Well, I switched her back to size 3's and it cleared up immediately. I ran out yesterday so I put a size 4 back on her at bedtime. Dh changed her this morning and I jus went to change her again and her bottom is all red and broken out again. There has to be either a deoderant change or a cloth change between the two sizes. What do you guys think? Anyway, I told Dh we might need to try changing both babies to either Huggies or Luvs. I'm seriously scared of diaper changes b/c I don't want to buy leaky diapers. What size is comparable in Huggies and Pampers? Is a size 3 Pampers a size 3 Huggies??? Help!!!!!

My DD had red, pimply diaper rash on the back of her leg where the diaper line was. I kept putting cream on it, and it would look a bit better, then get worse.

At 9 month appt, Dr said it was fasciulitis (sp?) and a staph infection! He recommended washing it daily with antibacterial soap and putting antibiotic cream on it often. This cleared it up after a couple of days.

Just thought I'd share that. Poor DD had this for a couple of months and I didn't do anything about it except wonder why it wouldn't go away!

Cooper brok out really bad- red raw skin all over his buttocks and front. I thought it was yeast b/c I had always used Pampers. Finally took him to the Vet to look at it and she said it was contact dermatitis. Couldn't figure out what in the world it could be b/c we hadn't changed anything. We did move up in Pampers size from Swaddlers(size 2) to Cruisers(size 3) but I never imagined those would be a diff makeup. For the heck of it I bought some Huggies Supremes and a week later it's completely healed and better!

    Stephe-
Thanks! That is what she has. It's like raw red skin in the creases of her leg/crotch area. Her little bottom is blotchy. It's not like diaper rash it's like a reaction. However, it goes away when I switch back to size 3's. Maybe I'll try Huggies and see how that goes. Thanks!!!!

How strange! I hope the Huggies clears it up. We've always used Huggies & are very happy with them. Our babies are about 17 lbs & in a size 3 Huggies Supreme. We did notice, even within the Huggies brand that some are better than others. I can't remember the name of them, but we get the ones with Lion King on them. The ones with Pooh that have green squares always leaked.

Both our babies have very sensitive skin & haven't reacted to Huggies. (Johnny is so sensitive that even crawling on the carpet w/o a onesie or something on will give him a horrible rash.) DH is also a nut about always putting a little bit of diaper power (cornstarch) at every diaper change & we've only had 1 diaper rash so far that cleared up in 1 day.

Sorry, i don't have any advice on pampers or huggies but we use generics and have never had a problem with leaking or rashes. Maybe you could try them?

My girls are both exactly 17.5lbs and 27 inches, Manda wears Pampers Baby Dry, and Sydney wears Huggies Supreme. There is no noticable size difference, however I find that the Pampers are more leak-proof.

HAHHAHA... You have me cracking up! I didn't even catch the vet comment. hahahha. I don't know why I find this so hilarious, but it is!!!

    Twin mom brain sets in!!!

ANswer to original post...I LOVE Huggies Supreme. I loved the swaddlers when they were little and hated the cruisers. I buy Luv's for daycare cause they are cheaper and they change them every 1 or 2 hours. But I really like the Huggies Supremes and a size 3 is a size 3 I believe.

Jessy is this way we switch her to Huggies for a few days and when she is cleared up we switch her back. I see no difference in the sizes.
