We are flying to Kansas, from Oregon in April. We change planes twice. Luckily the in-laws are rounding up car seats, PNP and strollers to borrow when were there. Any tips for the actual flying with the babies? They'll be 7 months.

We flew with the girls with they were 5 months and 8 months and each time were lucky that we didn't have to bring car seats, pnp's, or a stroller.

We wore the girls in the Bjorns which was very handy because you can go thru security with them in it. During our second trip we had a long layover so we brought a small light umbrella stroller, but probably should have had two since at 8 months the girls were getting heavy (it was a 3 hour lay over too). Pack two diaper bags (backpack style), that way you and DH both have one. In the diaper bag separate all liquids in a 1 quart bag that is at the top so its easy to pull out to go thru security. Pack an extra shirt for yourself along with extra clothes for your kids. Change diapers immediately before getting on the plane, and definitely pre-board because you will need some time and room to get yourselves settled. Aside from all these tips, my number one tip is to keep a sense of humor!!! My girls were pretty good on the trips we've taken them on, but each moment on a plane where they aren't screaming I'm thinking "1 less minute until we get there." GL!

bring a new toy and tie it to a string/ribbon and then tie the string in a loop, so you can loop your arm/hand through it. That way if they drop it during flight, it's not rolling down the aisle or just getting dirty. I think I got that tip from someone on here, and it was a lifesaver! Definitely wear the babies if you're not bringing strollers- you'll need your hands free. We gate checked two umbrella strollers since ours were too big to wear and it worked well. I also brought sanitizing wipes to wipe down the tray tables, wall/window, arm rests, etc... because airplanes are SO filthy with people sneezing, eating, using tissues and all that gross stuff, and of course the babies will TOUCH EVERYTHING and put EVERYTHING they can in their mouths. You'll have to buy bottled water after you get through the gate for your bottles. Pre measure formula in the bottles ahead of time so all you have to do is add water and shake. If you're nursing, I doubt you can tandem feed on a plane, so bring EBM in bottles (they will let it through security.) You'll want them eating or sucking on pacis during take off and especially landing. If you use pacis, get paci clips so they don't get dropped.

Ok, I think that's all I can think of! Have a great trip- it is a bit stressful, but I bet your kids will surprise you!! :)

Ditto, go with the understanding that no matter how bad it gets it is really only a short period of time in the scope of life  Since you are bfing, I think it makes things easier, no liquids to have to worry about. I always nursed one right when we got on the plane (the one who would use a paci) and the other one during takeoff to help with ears.
Bring enough diapers, paci's, burp cloths, wipes, GOOD toys, some puffs/cheerios and 2 changes of clothes for them. Most likely the noise of plane will put them to sleep soon after takeoff.

I flew with mine at 8 weeks, 5 months, 9 months, 12 months and 15 months, it was never that bad :winking0009: and most times was actually easy!!

Also know you and Dh can't sit in teh same row as they don't have enough oxygen masks for 5 people on 3 seats. You will have to sit across the isle or on different rows. I flew by myslef with 2 babies at 5 mo. and had a layover. It went great. I flew at night so they could sleep. I would recommend this. Bring everything you think you could need. Bring a change of shirt for you in case. Planeside check what you need to. I had stewardess get warm water for me. They mixed hot tea water and cold drinking water and worked. Don't be afraid to ask for help or what you need. Preboard. Bring snacks and toys to keep them entertained. I brought a DVD player with baby einstein and that helped. Good luck, it is not that bad,
