Help!! HA. Getting excited and nervous about flying to FL from VT on Friday with the boys and dd. The boys will be lap babies (yes I have their birth cert ready to prove it!) and dd will obviously have her own seat. I will have a back pack diaper bag carryon etc and so will dh. What are the absolute essentials for the trip? We are flying Jetblue and they have tvs in the back of every seat with Directv! So I am skipping the dvd players. We are flying in the evening (515pm) then one stop over and will eat dinner/let the kids run around until our next flight a few hours later. Then its arrive around midnight and my parents are picking us up.

    TIA!!!

ETA: We will need to bring J's liq asthma meds in our carryone and his ped is sending us a note for that. I hope that does not cause a problem! My mom already has carseats for all the kids (installed too by an expert too!). So all we will need is the double stroller to lug through security. Yup i know that dh will need to sit separate on the first leg of flight ( very small plane from VT). But the next plane we should be able to sit in the same row, not aisle though. [IMG]

Good luck and have a fun trip [IMG] At their age I think it won't be too bad! Mine were pretty entertained by just looking out the window, etc. I brought a few small books, snacks and something for them to suck on during takeoff/landing for their ears. You might bring a small blanket for each of them since it can get kind of chilly on the plane. Also be sure to bring a change of clothes for them in case of spills, accidents or illness. Just remember that you and DH can't sit in the same row. There aren't enough oxygen masks for 2 lap children in a row.

We just flew for the first time last week and it was much better than I could have imagined. I got the squirmy child but other than that it was fine. We each had our own backpack as well...diapers, wipes, change of clothes, sippy cup, snacks, books, toys. Our boys are 15 mos and really weren't interested in the books or toys too much. They just wanted to get down!
We checked their car seats w/ our luggage and put a trash bag over the tall part of the seat, just to help keep it clean. Then we kept them in the stroller until we checked it at the gate.
They are VERY picky about liquids, gels, etc. We had to "declare" everything, including prepackaged applesauce...we just had to tell them we had it and then they actually ran a test on it, then gave it back. I had small bottles, less than 3 oz is key, in their original container and they took them because I didn't have them in a plastic bag. So take some plastic bags for stuff like that.
Also, you have to remove kids shoes as well as your own when you go through security. Overall, it wasn't bad it just takes a little time.
    Enjoy your trip!!

Sounds like you have it all under control. We flew to Fl. in December and it went well, as well as can be expected that is. That is nice that Jet Blue has TV's. Our flight was only 2 hours and was direct, which we made sure of. We also took our double stroller and gate checked it. The only trouble for us was one of us had to hold both babies while the other one folded it up, but yours can walk so that won't be a problem. Getting through security will take awhile. You have to take all shoes off and put all liquids/gels in the gray bins. And put the stoller up there to go through too, that is a pain. Then you are waiting for everything, but your stoller comes out last, at least that is how we had to do it since our twins couldn't stand. Just be prepared. Have a good time!!!

I would buy them each a brand new toy (something they haven't seen before). This may entertain for a few minutes. Have a great trip!!

Just want to let you know that when we flew jet blue in October the directTV did not work on our flight home.

Have a great trip. Relax is the best advice I can give you.
