Our DDs are just getting the hang of crawling...I think they'll be on the move within a week or two. We have wood floors in the majority of our house, although their playroom has a big rug. I have been wondering about the wood flooring and the cleaners we use on them. Have you heard of any floor cleaners in particular that are safe for crawlers since they constantly put their hands in their mouths? Or, have you heard of any that are known to be dangerous???? Of course, I would never let them on the floor without letting any cleaner dry first, but I just wonder about the chemicals even after the floors have dried. Any info on this would be helpful...thank you!!!!!

we just use vinegar and hot water. We've been doing that since we had the dogs and I was concerned about their paws. There is supposed to be some non toxic cleaner out on the market..I'm guessing that is safe??

Well, I figure that when I was a baby I highly doubt that anything special was being used. I think that I turned out to be ok but who knows...could explain some of my strange behavior growing up LOL. That being said, I never really thought about it. I think anything would be ok as long as you rinse it well or maybe dilute the cleaner a little more than you normally would. I have been using spic n' span or something like that and have never had a problem. Have my girls licked the floor? Well, maybe once or twice but they seem to be ok :D

I couldn't get in touch with my mom, but I found a web site that says half a cup of white vinegar to a gallon of warm water.
    Hope this helps.

We use Ms. Meyers cleaners you can get from any health food store. They smell sooooo good! But Target has their own brand of healthy cleaners called "Method" that work just as well. I am all about the house smelling good after I clean it so I am a sucker for these two brands.

I use a half cup of white vinegar per gallon of water or Murphy's Wood Oil Soap. Murphy's is just soap and they use it to clean elephants at the zoo so it can't be toxic.

We are supposed to clean our floors? :D

Thanks for the reminder that I will soon be having to clean mine more often with 2 new crawlers coming soon.

I have been told the Murphy's Soap cleans so well it will ruin the finish on wood floors over time, this from guys who do the refinishing, they suggested vinegar and hot water also.
