Up till now, I've loved this booster seat. But dd had a little accident in hers & I was trying to get the straps off so I can wash them. The straps for the back came off just fine, but the straps that go under the seat will NOT come off!!! I'm seriously considering cutting them off, since we never use them & they stink like pee now. What a bad design.

Hmmm....we have these too and DH managed to get all the straps off for me when I cleaned them a couple of weeks ago. It was a PIA to get the ones that go under the seat back on, but doable. I wonder if the design might be a little different?

Could you sit it in a tub of hot soapy water and then rinse it? That should get the smell out! We have those seats and they were great for us. I only ever had to get food off them though!

What a PITA - putting it in the tub sounds like a great idea!

It's a pain but they do come off. I have a shark steam cleaner and that cleans them very well without taking them off. Tub sounds like a great idea. I have soaked mine in the sink and put on the deck to dry just to avoid taking the straps off.

Try the soaking in the tub and then let them sit out in the sun.

    I love these seats!

I got so mad I called FP to see if there was some trick. :) Nope.....but she agreed with me, they're a huge PITA. I was able to get them in the sink & soak them. I used diluted Simple Green & that seemed to work.

Wanted to share our trick- we use a butter knife to help work those things through the slots. It's still not an easy task- but at least I can do it and not have to wait on DH to get home!

I love them! I agree with the others - put them in the bathtub and give them a total scrub down.
