first year pic ideas

Hard to believe but our boys will be one year on Oct. 6th! We want to take them somewhere to get some cute little one year pics done but are struggling with ideas. Has anyone done anything cute or does anyone have amy cute ides for what to wear. I was thinking just something fallish? struggling...

 

For their six-month pics, we had the photographer come to our house and do the shoot in our backyard. I think it worked out great and the boys were much more relaxed than they would have been at a studio. Plus you get a wide variety of backgrounds.

 

October is such a pretty time of year to take pictures outside. You could do just some simple outdoor shots and then if you felt like it take pictures of your boys smashing cupcakes/mini cakes with a "1" candle on top of it. I've seen so many of these pictures (our photographer has done a ton of cute sessions like that) and they are adorable. Is there a park near you or a lake or anything? We're doing the babies 9 month pictures in our downtown park complete with a lake, ducks, etc. That might be more "boyish" than the cake thing. I'm sure they'll be sweet whatever you do.

 

we had our photographer meet us at the park, and we had some great pictures taken near some big huge old trees. they turned out great. we also did some bday cake pictures w/the babies just in their cloth diapers. they are pretty cute! the photographer brought those super cute cakes... it was hysterical... our ds dove in, but dd acted all innocent. not sure if these links will work... but here are some samples of ours.

I especially like the ones w/us walking... they're so cute and little... can't wait to get another like this in a few years with them bigger!

Those are so cute! I love the cake one where your son has his tongue to the side of his mouth... you can just hear him thinking... "let me at it!" Great photos!

 

Some of the really cute ones from our 1 year session were of the girls wearing only a diaper cover with a birthday cake in between them. They were supposed to tear into the cake and get messy but they wanted nothing to do with it.

 

Those are absolutely adorable and such a great idea. We live in Ohio and right now the weather ir gorgeous. If we attempt something like that I just hope the weather would cooperate. Your pics turned out just precious!

 

thanks! it was a fun shoot, and yes, the picture of my ds anticipating the cake is hysterical! he'd never had cake or icing before!! the next day we had their birthday party and they acted the same, he tore into his.

whatever you choose to do will be fun. I also had some cute naked baby pictures... figured it was probably the last time you can officially get some of those. ones with bare bottoms showing...
