Hi Nicole. The hardest part for me about being on bedrest at home was that my 2 1/2 year old daughter didn't understand why mommy couldn't get up and play. Unfortunately I was only on bedrest at home for about 10 days. I have now been in the hospital for 30 days! When you think about how hard it is at home just be thankful that you get to still be at home with your family. Being separated from my family for this past month has been the hardest thing I have done!! My husband and daughter come see me every day but it just isn't the same. Good luck! You can do it!!

Oh hang in there! Growing babies is hard work :)
I agree is there anyone that can help entertain your son? family? friends? a teenager? church members?
Maybe your partner could sit up an area whereever you are doing your bedrest with LOTS of things for your toddler to do. coloring books? blocks? movies? books? etc and you 2 can have a lazy day together! Make it fun for him. Let him stay in jammies all day and ask him what he would like to do etc. that has to be rough!

I'm going on my 3rd week of bed rest and I couldn't imagine having another child to look after. I'm here with the dogs and I can't take it!! Good luck to you!

It is hard, and I just want to encourage you! After this, you will realize you're tougher than you think and it will help carry you thru those early twin months. One day, it'll be a distant dream.

I did 11 weeks at home (strict) with my 2nd DS, and with the twins, I did 6 @ home (strict) and 7 more in the hospital. . . with my kids at home. Broke my heart. But we made it, and it was worth it. It feels like forever, but it's a snippet of time really. Our kids are more resilient than us, I think. And better to spend time in the bed now saving the health/lives of your unborns rather than spending way more time with the NICU/them having health probs or being lost.

You can do it! Please feel free to message me if you ever need someone to talk to!

I was on modified bedrest at home for 15 weeks. I was allowed to be up 4 hours a day....that included eating, showering and peeing! When I was on modified bedrest, someone gave me good advic......create a schedule. You think........yeah, right a schedule when you have nothing to do....how I schedule nothing. I did create a schedule and it did help. I set aside certain chunks of time for reading, watching a movie, eating and taking a shower. For some reason have some predicatibility to my day helped me.

Oh, and disregard any well intention family and friends and their comments. I was so frustrated by the comments........"must be nice" "wanna trade with me" "enjoying your leisure time" "enjoy it while you can". Ba hum bug. People just don't get how difficult bedrest can be.

Hang in there and feel free to PM me if you need to chat........I've been there!!!
