    hi ladies,
i'm new here. my name is amy, i'm 33 yrs old, have spent the past year TTC with donor IUI's as a single mom, and finally got a bfp last week. i had my first sono today, at 4w6d, and there were 2 sacs! i'm praying that my stay here with you gals will be a long one. so here's my question... one sac was up at the top of my uterus and didnt have a yolk sac yet. the other sac was down in the lower uterine segment and had a yolk sac. the doc said that this one will be at a higher risk of m/c due to its location. anyone had this situation? i'd love to hear all stories, good or bad, i just want a realistic view of what may happen. but of course, success stories are always welcome! ;) i go back in 1 week for my next sono.

:sign0016: Hello! Congrats! I had an u/s @ 5w2d and we could only see the 2 sacs, but 2 weeks later there were 2 babies and both yolk sacs. Good luck!

    Hi Amy,

Welcome to TS! Did you happen to get a picture you could post to show us where the sacs are in the uterus? You can't use embedded photos here, but you could upload them to Photobucket or something and post the link so we can see.

ETA: I think the sacs can migrate some at this point. Maybe I'm wrong, but in one of my early u/s the sacs were one on top of another and the next one they were right next to each other.

Here are my pics of what I'm talking about:

thanks for the warm welcome, ladies! :)

Beth- wow those are great pics of the little beanies! mine are so small and i had a hard time taking pictures of the sono pics, but here is a link to a little website that i have a page on, and it has the pics of both sacs. it's weird cuz they are so far apart, they aren't even both visible on the same picture. so that makes it hard to judge how far down twin B is, but on the pics, twin A is on the left, and B on the right.

btw- how did you make that clickable link for your pics? man i've got a lot to learn! ooh ooh i think i figured it out... lol.

Congrats!!!! That is so exciting for you!!!

Here was my situation (I also had IUI): I had 1 sac up near the top, it had a yolk sac and everything. I had another one down near the bottom - there was no yolk sac. However, each week it would keep growing and we eventually saw a sac and heartbeat. In the early days it was a whole week behind the other, but around week 9 or 10 she totally caught up! The doctors never said that because it was lower it had a greater risk for m/c.
