Well I have been on 2 day bed rest… which will be longer as I had a reaction to the Motrin the Dr. wanted me to take… I was dizzy like a little kid who just spent a minute spinning, except it last an hour, then made me throw up… well almost 24 hours after I took the last pill I had 5 contraction in one hour, so my Dr convince L&D to take me though I am just at 17 weeks… I had 3 while being monitored, so I got the shot of Trebutaline and was sent home… but I’ve been up since 3:00 am (it’s now 5:am) with lower back aching, and it feels like someone on the inside of me is pushing down on the lower part of my uterus… does that make since??? If I lay down its can turn menstrual feeling… sitting up makes it less noticeable… now I’m not sure if I’m so uncomfortable I cant sleep OR I am just worried and cant sleep… I called L&D around 3:30am and they were like if its not better in 30 min come back, BUT I don’t want to wake my mom to drive down to watch my son and the hospitals about 20 min away… I thought about just going myself… but I think I came to the conclusion to wait until my Drs Office opens at 9 and take it from there… my DH has been asleep this whole time… I feel bad for the guy… he’s got to much on his plate because of this…

Thank you for your concern… I don’t feel it as much anymore … ever since I sat up to type on my computer… it’s 6am now, my DH should be waking up soon, I may go lay back down and see if it comes back… and run it by him when he wakes… Thank you again… it always hard to judge at 3am

I second that!! At this point there is so much they can do to stop it if you are going into preterm labor, rather than waiting until the damage is already done. It is better to be safe than sorry. Keep us posted on how you are feeling!

Make sure your doctor is checking your cervix and talk with them about a cerclage if it is shortening!! I'm sorry Indocin gave you a bad reaction, that worked pretty well for me.

I would go in as soon as possible. Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time and that the med made you so sick. Wake up your mom is you have so you can get in to get checked out.

    GO GET CHECKED OUT!

I had a very conservative doctor and I was in the hospital on bedrest at 24 weeks with a cervix of 2.9cm. Considering your history and current measurements, I hope that your doctors are taking an equally conservative approach. I'm worried about you. Keep us posted.

I agree! I had lower back pain, and called my OB and was told to take tylenol and use a heating pad, and then a few days later Emilie was born, so I am sure it was contractions. Let us know what happens.

    Thank you everyone :love0028: ,

I tried and was able to go back to sleep at 6am, woke up at 7:30 and felt fine… my DH picked up my new RX and I have been in bed all day… my laptop crashed and I had to wait until my DH came home with his… I stayed on bed rest, and will until Friday… if the systems come back again I wont hesitate to go, my mom lectured me about feeling bad about waking her up, she said she retired and that’s what she is for :acute: … I only had 3 contractions all day today (and once was when I showered and the other when the dog barked in his sleep… scared more then the crap out of me)… the nurses at the hospital said it is very common to have a contraction an hour with twins… so I feel better reducing that down to 3 in 12 hours…
Thank you agin for you insight and concern… hopefully with today being so good, I’ll be good to good next week…
you guys really rock, and help a girl when she second guesses herself... THANK YOU :hug99:
    Elizabeth
PS my AFP came back great today…. I even said “are you sure” I had it in the back of my mind it was gonna come up with drama… but kept positive…
