Well, this may be a bit TMI but I've had a cyst type thing in my groin area that has gotten worse over the last several days. It's actually more between my inner upper thigh and labia. It has gotten so bad that it is really painful to walk, sit down, sit on the toilet, etc. I've had these before and a couple times have been able to 'lance' it myself. Well, I tried that but it didn't work and maybe made things worse. Last evening I started running a low fever and felt like the girls weren't moving as much. So I called L&D to talk to a nurse and she said to try drinking juice and laying back down for a while. Well they still weren't moving much so I called back and they said to come in. I was really worried about infection going through my body to the babies. I took some tylenol to help my fever. Anyway, they hooked me up to the monitors and Baby B was really easy to get and did fine. Baby A was harder to keep on the monitors but they got some readings. Once we were there both babies were moving okay, of course. My blood pressure was fine...119/78!! But my pulse was racing really high. Anyway, we didn't get home until 1:00 a.m., but it was worth it to know the girls were okay. I have an appointment with my peri tomorrow so I called today to let them know what's going on and to see if they want me to come in today. But they said I should be fine until tomorrow, unless my fever goes too high. This cyst thing is just soooo painful, but hopefully they can do something about it tomorrow. The girls have been moving around better this morning than they have the last couple of days, so that is somewhat reassuring.

Ouch!!! That cyst certainly doesn't sound like fun! As if being pregnant with twins isn't hard enough, you get lucky enough to have another little goodie to tote along!!!

Glad to hear the peanuts are doing fine and that they were able to monitor them!!!

ugh...that sounds painful...can you take a warm bath?...will that help the cyst to maybe pop on it's own?... Hope it goes away soon.

That sucks about the cyst, like you don't have enough going on. I did the same thing one night, I was sick and coughing and I couldn't breathe and of course I didn't think the boys were moving. By the time I got there they were moving just fine and they ended up sending me home to take robitussin. It was definitly worth the reassurance though. Hope everything goes well at the peri.

    Hello,

I can't believe it - I think I am going through the exact same thing! I have a big swollen cyst-like thing in what sounds like the exact same spot as you do! It just got bad in the last two days. It hurts to stand, sit, move - I don't know what to do about it. I am thinking that it is an ingrown hair gone bad - I had something like this happen once before at the top of my pubic area and it opened and drained after a couple of days. This one is just in such a bad spot, I can hardly take it! I have it bandaged up somewhat to relieve some of the friction from my clothing, but it doesn't help that much and it is not in a place where a bandage stays put!

I don't think I have a fever of any kind and I just had my routine monthly ultrasound yesterday - the babies are just fine. If it doesn't go down soon, I will be nervous about an infection spreading. I feel kind of silly calling my OBGYN about something like this, but maybe I should.

I'd be really curious to hear what your doctor says it is and/or how to treat it. I'm thinking of taking a hot bath tonight and/or using hot compresses.

Is this another "weird" pregnancy related affliction - perhaps caused by change in hair growth? I certainly haven't been doing much shaving in that area lately!

Looking forward to hearing what you learn. Glad your babies are well!

Are you sure it's a cyst and not an inguinal or femoral hernia? I got a inguinal hernia in my 2nd trimester due to the weight and pressure of the babies. There really isn't anything they can do for it unless it requires emergency surgery, which you want to avoid during pregnancy. It helps to stay off your feet with the hernia.b
