Well, If anyone read my previous post regarding my husband's bout of what we thought was food poisoning...I did not escape unscathed and was up all night TMI both ends if you know what I mean. I could not keep any liquid down and after about 4 hours went to the L&D at our hospital.

They were very kind and patient as I continued to vomit regardless of the meds they gave me...not to mention the runs. They gave me 2 liters of fluids and I got home around 3pm today after proving I could keep down a small glass of water. I had a really weird reaction to the nausea meds and instead of making me sleepy they actually made me jumpy and I couldn't even sit in the bed. Luckily my doctor approved a small ambien for me and I got a couple hours.

I was so anxious to come home as I was so uncomfortable there in their bed. To no avail, it is not the bed but the virus and my entire body aches and I am bone chilling cold.

Anyway, no more vomiting and the diah. has tapered off. I am just freezing and too achy to move. Sorry for the long complaining post but it does make me feel better.

Also, if you come down with this (I guess its going around) and feel dehydrated do NOT HESITATE to go to your L&D - I had know idea I was as dehydrated as I was and it could have been dangerous.

We did hear both babies heart beats but I wish I could have seen them and am very worried about them being okay through this. Between the medicines they gave me and the dehydration I am obviously worried.

Gotta run, sorry if there are many mistakes - not into proofreading right now.

    Stay Healthy!

I had almost exactly the same thing happen yesterday! I came home from work with flu-like symptoms that got progressively worse. I never actually threw up, but couldn't bare the thought of trying to eat...and the other end...well...yeah...it was bad. We ended up going in also, and I got hydrated with 2 liters of saline and they gave me procardia for the contractions...I didn't even know they were happening! I always have assumed that feeling was the babies wedging or stretching and then releasing, but it was actually Braxton Hicks! Mine were every 3-4 minutes, for about 30 seconds, but we got released in about 4.5 hours and the contractions had subsided.

I agree...don't hesitate to go in if you know you're not getting your food and water...STAY HYDRATED!!! [IMG]

Sorry to hear you were so sick! It sounds like you're feeling better, though, so that's good. Keep up the fluids!

Smart move to get checked out at L&D. You are already a great mom! Hope you feel much better soon. Get rest and drink, drink, drink!
