    Hi Everyone,

I'm a first time expectant Mom a little over 36 weeks with di/di twin girls. I've found this forum extremely helpful throughout my pregnancy since it contains so much valuable information in a single place. It's also reassuring to hear about so many experiences from different Mom's and makes you feel like your not alone.

I'm feeling pretty anxious these days (aren't we all!) since my doctor really hasn't provided a time table as to when he thinks the girls with arrive. He doesn't believe in doing internal physical exams on my weekly appointments to see if I'm dialated since it may increase the chance of me getting any kind of infection. I haven't lost my mucus plug to my knowledge and my sister in law swears it's an unmistakeable experience. I've been getting contractions sporadically throughout the day but no regular pattern. Also, they haven't been painful at all. Just uncomfortable like when your belly gets extremely hard for a full minute or two and then eases up.

A couple nights ago I wasn't sure if I was going into labor since I hear loose bowels were a common prelabor sign. I had some strong contractions after but then fell asleep. The contractions seemed to have slowed over the last couple days, decreasing in frequency.

I'm just feeling a little lost right now not knowing when the big day will arrive. If anyone has any tips that helped them through the last few weeks, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I do know 10/29 is the last possible day since that's the date of my planned C. I truly hope they come before and I'm able to do it vaginally.

Best of luck to everyone :)
    Lisa

:wavey: Lisa and welcome to Twinstuff! Congrats on your twins and also for going to so long. :clapping: The last few weeks were the hardest for me too, my doctor wouldn't schedule a c/s until I was 38 weeks! I wish I could tell you how to go through these most frustrating weeks without feeling anxious. I watched alot of TV and kept concentrating on the fact that they would be here one day soon and things would go okay. I wish the best for you!

Congrats and welcome to TS! The last few weeks were tough to get through but I just kept reminding myself (sometimes every few minutes!) that each day they stayed inside was at least one less day they would spend in the NICU. I was scheduled for a c/s at 38w 1d and went into labor on my own at 37w 5d. With all of my pregnancies the last few weeks were full of contractions that I would swear were real labor only to fall asleep and wake up the next morning with no contractions at all. Rest as much as you possibly can (I had a routine that every time I got up I'd circle to the bathroom to pee, to the kitchen to get another drink and something to eat then back to the couch until I had to pee again!) drink alot and try to keep your mind busy with other things. I watched tv when I could (had older kids to accomodate), read books, played with my little one that was at home with me, etc. Anything that didn't take alot of brain power or energy, just passed the time. Hang in there!

Congratulations! They really will get here! My doctor didn't do vaginal exams either (until I begged for one at 39 weeks!) so I know just how you feel. Try planning something fun to do that you won't be able to do for a while after the babies come. DH and I used up a gift certificate to a fancy restaurant. And I went into labor the next morning!

My doctor has done internals since 16 weeks and when I lost my mucus plug with my DD I didn't know it until the doctor told me I did...

    Hang in there!!

Thanks to everyone for your support! We just had another BPP ultrasound today and follow up with the doctor. On a positive, both babies are continuing to do well. Strong heartbeats, good practice breathing movements in their diaphram, and there is still a good amount of amniotic fluid.

The only downside of today's visit was learning Baby A was still breech. Baby B has been head down and vertex for a few weeks and we were hoping her sister would follow suit. I truly do want to have a vaginal birth if at all possible and we need Baby A to cooperate. I've heard many positive things about C-sections but I still have concerns and worry. I'm just not a fan of any surgical procedure period having been through a few. Ultimately, we are going to do what's best and safest for the babies.

Anyone have any luck have a breech baby turn in the 37th or 38th week?

    Best,
    Lisa
