Congratulations on your pregnancy!! How exciting!! :yahoo:

The only advice I have is to have a very good support system once your babies are born. The first 3 months ( actually the first year) will be hard and you will need all the help you can get. Prepare meals in advance and freeze because you won't have time or energy to cook.

SLEEP now because you won't get much of this "luxus" once they are born.

Again congratulations and :sign0016: !

I was a first time mommy when I had twins and we managed fine. You can tell the sexes anywhere between 15-20 weeks. You are having fraternal twins if they are in different sacks.

Yes, go to the expecting twins forum too. There are a ton of moms in your similar position that can relate. Maybe the Moderators can move this over to expecting for you?

Mods?

Congrats to you! Good luck in your pregnancy!! Having twins is an amazing roller coaster of wonderful emotions. Youll do great. :sign0016:

I'm sorry, but I had to correct that this is not an idicator for ID or FRAT. :D

:clapping: CONGRADS!!!!!!!!!!!! How awesome for you!!!! I think we found out about 20 weeks but really don't remember. Ours were in two different sacks as well. They look alot alike but i don't think mine are identical. But never had them tested. This place is awesome and will give you gret advice. I would go to the expecting board. They have great info there!!!!!! :yahoo: :sign0016:

Congrats! We found out about the girls at 19 weeks. You'll get lots more ultrasounds to re-check though - so they're less likely to make a mistake. This forum is terrific!! You can also search the posts for info you need.

Congrats!
We found out what we were having at my 14 week ultrasound, we were lucky because that is pretty early. Definitely by 20 weeks they should be able to tell you.
I am still learning, but do know that different placentas and different sacks is a good thing!
Everyone's care if very different on this board it seems, just make sure you are comfortable with whatever plan of care your OB comes up with.

I was told what the sexes were at 12 weeks, saying they were pretty positive, and they confirmed at 19 weeks - they stayed girls so they were right for me :)
Congrats :) :)

& congrats!!!
I am also PG for the first time. I would find the book by Dr Luke for great nutrition advice. Look for twin books for a better outlook on what is going on with your body every month. And, my last piece of advice....hang out here with us and listen to the sage advice of those that have been there!

I just wanted to say Welcome! You will find this site very helpful I know I have. I found out I was having twins at 13 weeks. I had another u/s at 15 weeks and the u/s tech was pretty sure they were both boys but didn't want to say for sure. I went back about 2 weeks later and they confirmed that they were both boys!

Congrats! I found out I was pg with twins at 12 weeks and girls at 20 weeks. Even though your babies have 2 sacs they could still be either fraternal or identical. If they are b/g twins, they are fraternal, if they are same sex, they could be ID. The only way you will find out is after they are born if you believe they are ID is to get them DNA tested. My girls had seperate sacs and placentas and I was told fraternal. Turns out they were ID. So you just never know! If your babies look so much alike that you cant tell them apart and if they have the same blood type (a clue that they are ID), then I would have them DNA tested.

I'm a first time mom too. I found out I was pregant with twins at 6 weeks. I thought I was going in to the OB just to make sure I really was prego, and came out shocked that I was having twins.

My twins are my first (and last) children. This forum got me through the pregnancy, that's for sure. Also if you are a reader, I highly recommend the book Mothering Multiples That book help me stop panicing. I also had Everything You Need to Know to Have a Healthy Twin Pregnancy, which was good too, but the mothering multiples helped me more in the long run.

:sign0016: I have to tell you that I am so jealous of all the ladies that found out so early they were having twins!!! I didn't find out until my 16 week anatomy scan! I thought I had a two headed baby at first (I'm a nurse so I'm kinda used to looking at u/s pics) It took the tech almost 5 min to calm down and stop saying I've never diagnosed this before she told us they were twins. She even looked at me at one point before she told me and said you didn't know. I asked her how I would I know I was going to have a two headed baby. DH & I were sobbing before she told us (JERK!!!) :umm: Anyways..... CONGRATS! I'm so happy for you. :yahoo: My only advice is listen to your body. If you think something doesn't feel right, call your dr. That's what they get paid the big bucks for.

I have ID girls :itwins: and found out later that week their sexes. My biggest adjustment is dealing with peoples comments. Hormones are killing me and some people can just be so RUDE! I hope you find all the support you need on here and CONGRATS again!

congrats on having twins! It will be the best time of you life (atleast it is mine). Mine were my first and we found out we were having twins at 11 1/2 weeks. At 15 weeks we found out it was two boys. We shared a placenta and had a thing membrane betweent he two boys. Good Luck! The best advice i could give you would be to know yourself and dont push yourself too far. When you feel like you have had enough, then rest, relax and put your feet up. CArrying two babies isnt the easiest thing in the world. You'll get tired and I oculd almost gaurantee that your feet will swell up. Another thing that is importatn, if you feel that something isnt right or if you have questions - dont ever feel that you are being stupid and asking them. There is no question that is stupid, ask your doctor, ask us....in the long run, it will help you feel more assured about your pregnancy... Anyways, congrats on your pregnancy and keep us updated!
