Ok so one of my boys got his first tooth Jan 1 then the second came in on Jan 6. But his identical brother hasn't gotten his first yet.
My question is for you Moms of other Identical twins. What was your experiences with your teething little ones? Did their teeth come in at the same time, a week or two different, or was ther a major difference like what you would expect with non-identicals. Hoping that the fussiness indicates its coming in soon so we all can get some sleep until the next batch come in. ;)
    thanks for your help!

With my boys Cameron has always been the one to cut teeth first and then I can usually expect Evan to start cutting the same tooth within a week or two. It's weird because they are the exact same teeth in the exact same order. I don't know if this is for all identicals, but that's how it has been working out for mine. HTH!

My girls cut at the same time. Alivea would always cut the first one, then a few days later, Kaytlin's would come in but on the opposite side.

Not positive if my girls are identical, however most people say they are. The ped tells me every time we have an appointment. Anyway, my twins both got their 1st teeth within a few weeks of each other. They were both front bottom teeth, but one was the left side, the other the right side. They both got their 2nd teeth also within a few weeks of each other also. This is exactly why I think they are id also. Why didn't one get a tooth at 6 months, the other at 8 months?

We're proof positive that ID does NOT mean their teeth will always come in the same order or mirrored or at the same time. We've had the DNA test and know for certain they are ID. Their first tooth was the same one and broke through within a week's time but there were a some differences after that. For a while, Trent had his lower two and Trevor had an upper and lower on the same side. The longest time period for a non-match, non-mirrored tooth discrepancy was about 5 weeks.

ETA: their bite looks the same -- they have the same crooked teeth on the bottom

My boys' teeth always came in at the same time, though mirrored, and are now falling out at the same time! This tooth fairy is going broke! :)

I find this so interesting! Everyone has different experiences. I know that our twins are mirror twins, so I've wondered if their teeth will come in mirrored. I LOL about the tooth fairy going broke. I hadn't thought of that yet. My oldest has only lost two, but I guess with four there will be a lot of $ going to lost teeth. I really hope the other cuts his teeth soon, although it could make nursing challenging. OUCH!

Thanks for all the responses! :)

Typically the girls teeth have come in within days of each other, with only a couple of variances from that.

They also started off with the same side tooth and the last couple have been mirrored from each other.

Poor punkins', we're having lots of fun here, all 4 1st year molars are coming in and Searra's finally broken that 4th front lower tooth through (one of those discrepancies...Ellie's had hers for a good month or two!)

How's this for strange - my frat twins got their first teeth within a couple days of each other, and same order! And they couldn't be more different in just about every other way.

It sounds like it really doesn't even make a difference that they have the same DNA makeup. I would have thought differently. Just shows that they are really individuals with their own set of circumstances. This is so much fun to watch!!!! :D

I agree! I have IDs that we think are mirror image - one has had both front uppers for several weeks now, one is no where close (still toothless - at 16months!!!). SO they're completely different there!

My ID boys got their first teeth 5 weeks apart and they came in mirrored. But... they each got their second tooth two days after their first. And we're also not positive that they're ID... no testing done yet.

Just found out positively that my girls are ID - DNA test - and Natalie got bottom 2 first - Carley about 2 weeks later. Carley's top 2 just came all the way through - Natalies are just coming to show. I think my girls are mirror twins also - but from the sound of it - it doesn't make a difference with the teeth thing really!

they only have two teeth so far, but colby got his first one on a wednesday, and by saturday, kellen had sprouted the mirrored one. they got their second teeth (again, mirrored ones) about one week after the first.

It's funny that you posted this because Jame's first tooth came through yesterday and today both Jack's bottom teeth came through. This whole time I was sure Jack was going to get teeth first and Jame's would come later but his came in out of nowhere.

My girl are ID and get the same teeth within days of each other. They are both working on number 8 right now.

With our girls, they got their first two teeth in the same order within a few days of each other. After that, many of the teeth came in opposite and sometimes there was a month long difference in time. It really just depends on the babies. :)

Well, just for an update. Jesse got his first tooth (the mirrored one) exactly 2 weeks after Joshua got his first. They are so much fun to watch. Thanks for all the experiences girls. Hug all those babies. Aren't they special! :D

I guess I'm kind of late in replying to this. My girls cut their first bottom tooth on exactly the same day. Then the second bottom tooth came in quickly for one and about 4 - 5 days later for the other one. I think their top ones aren't too far off. They both have a bit of a lump on one side. Wow, I'm surprised that some can come in so far apart, but it's good to know that's "normal" for any further teething.
