First steps?

Hi,

When I ask people I know who have toddlers about when their babies started walking independently, most of them replied by one year and two months. However, one person told me that she knows babies who started walking at 7 and 8 months!

At what age your babies made their first steps assisted and on their own?

I dont remember assisted but all on their own:
DS started walking 4 days after his 1st birthday
DD started walking 3 weeks after her 1st birthday (which was shocking! she coudlnt even sit up unassisted until 8 months!)

 

Amelia was taking steps on her own before her first birthday. They were both walking full time by 14 months.

I have a couple of friends whose babies were walking by 9 months. Not my girls though!

 

My DD was walking by 11 months and my DS took his first steps at 12 months but was not full blown walking until 14 months.

 

My kids all walked between 10 and 14 months.

 

My boys were one week shy of 15 months when they started walking unassisted. Lucas did it first. I mean literally one day he just up and started walking everywhere...3 days later, brother followed suit.

Baby girl will take a few unassisted steps over short distances here and there and has been for the last week so 11.5 months but I wouldn't count that as official as she's still primarily crawling for longer distances. I imagine in the next couple of weeks we'll see her take off. She'd walk while holding her hands since she was 8 months old though...I think she prefers the speed that she can get with crawling...ha!

 

My oldest son walked at 9 months. All the others walked around 10 or 11 months.

 

My DD started walking at 10 months, and my DS started at 14 months. Big difference, but they both seem fine to me.
