I can't believe it but my little Ana-banana took her first step on Saturday. She has been letting go while standing for awhile and Saturday she let go of the coffee table, turned (!!!) and took one step toward me. Of course then she fell, but yesterday she tried it a couple more times... actually she spent most of the day pulling up on me and then trying to take a step. Then out of nowhere she was in the middle of the floor with toys and just stood up!!! There was nothing to pull up on so she just put her hands on the ground and stood up, took one step and then plopped on her butt!

Meanwhile Meara is the quickest cruiser I've ever seen. She's actually fallen a couple of times because she goes around the coffee table corner too quickly and then falls on the floor. Ana had one fall with a bloody nose the first day of pulling up, and now Meara had her first bloody nose yesterday. She learned that when you are standing you need to pay attention!

Its funny that Ana took a step first because Meara is definitely steadier... when you hold out your hands when she is cruising on something, she will take one hand and grab your one hand and walk toward you. But this is the same as with *everything* else (rolling, crawling, pulling up, cruising), Ana does it first and then the next day Meara does it better. Its almost like Meara waits for Ana to figure it out (and Ana definitely has all the drive to keep practicing and practicing and practicing!), and then she says to herself "Ok now we both sit/crawl/cruise/walk!"

Anyway, I'll stop bragging now  Thanks for reading!

Yay, go Ana!! What a determined little girl!

I can't even fathom, because my older one didn't walk until 15 months -- it must be so cute to see a tiny 10-month-old toddling around. :D

It is really weird and actually I have to put them in the 9-12 month sleepers even though they are a little big.. the 6-9 month Carter ones that fit them don't have grip on the bottoms of their feet. Poor pumpkins were sliding all over the place in their fleecy sleepers before I realized this.. bad momma!

Okay, that's really funny, because mine outgrew 6-9 month clothes LONG ago! They're both wearing 12-18 month stuff pretty comfortably -- although we don't do footed sleepers, because they're too short in the crotch, but too baggy everywhere else for them. (They take after their uber-tall dad.)

Imagine how cute it will be when your peanuts are running through the mall, heehee!

Awesome! Don't feel like you have to warn us that you are going to brag! Isn't that our right as mothers? Brag away!

I can't believe they are taking steps! Must be so crazy to see ... I was looking at old video of mine the other day, and they were like 4 weeks old, small as could be, just laying their all swaddled. It's so easy to forget how small they once were, and now you have cruisers/steppers!
