Yesterday, I got my first period after the twins arrived 8 weeks ago. This is the WORST period I have ever had. The bleeding is very heavy.

Did other experience this? I don't remember this with my other children.

I got my tubes tied with my c-section. I've heard that gives you heavier periods. Could it be that?

    Uck, this is nasty!

My first couple after the Csection were incredibly heavy and the worst as well. They still start heavy (so different from before babies).

I experienced this too. I was so concerned by it and called my ob...she told me it's completely normal. They are still heavier than I remember but not like the 1st one right after!

I had heavy periods for about a year after the boys were born and I got a tubal as well. Now it has been 2 years and "it" has gotten much better.

Mine were extremely heavy after the twins/tubal. I had an ablation done last February to correct it.

Yes, super heavy. I did not have a tubal.

I guess you can call me weird, but since giving birth I haven't had anywhere near as heavy as a period than I used to have. I think it's progressively getting thicker, but yeah, my first period after was pretty darn light, but it did last over a week.

I'm glad you posted this, because I was also curious! I have had 3 periods since I had the girls and they have all been super heavy (the first 2 were heaviest). I was also wondering how long this would last!

Me, too. No tubal for me.
My first period lasted almost 2 months. It would stop for a day and then come back again. I didn't think it would ever go away. I'm having my second one now and it's still weird. Not as heavy, but very inconsistent. Heavy one day, then I think it's gone. It comes back again the next day.

But you had a vaginal birth, and I think that makes a difference. Mine are normally heavy anyways, but were AWFUL after the section. I didn't have a tubal though. I think its the difference in what "exits" during a vaginal birth and doesn't in a section..sound gross I know, but my bestfriend had a vaginal singleton birth and didn't experience a heavy period either therefore I just drew that conclusion, lol.

I also had a c-section and just had my first period last week which was VERY heavy. (I know, I was lucky that it took almost a year to come back...I can thank bf for that!).
I was not looking forward to it coming back and it really hit me hard when it did. Not only was it heavy, but I was also pretty emotional/stressed for a day or two (I think the fact that my babies are almost a year is getting to me, too ;-).
Anways, it sounds like this is a pretty normal thing...just wanted to say "me too" and I hope next month is better (sounds dumb, but oh well...)!!!
