First Period after birth

So my first period came birth came today. My practice is closed for the holidays to call and I forgot to ask them this question...

I had a c-section and I want to know can I use tampons for my first period or should I only use pads? I just want to be safe and it's been so long since I've had a period, I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing.

I'm still waiting for mine to return..haha! I'm no doctor, but if it was a c-section I don't see why it would be a problem...

 

If your doctor didn't say anything to you at your 6 week appointment about it I would assume tampons are fine. I just got my first one since the twins birth too, it's been so long I was kinda excited about it, LOL!

 

As far as I know it's fine, I did. They just don't want you using them right after birth.

 

I used tampons when AF came back after having my girls, and I also had a c-section. I didn't have any complications.

 

What if you deliver vaginally? Anyone use tampons then? I haven't gotten mine yet and I HATE pads!

 

I just stopped bleeding from having the babies. After I had my first DS at 6 week follow up my doctor said it would be fine though.

i delivered vaginally with all my births. I always use tampons and never had a problem.

 

All of my babies have been born by c-section and tampons are fine for your periods.......just not for the bleeding that happens after their birth (for the first 6 weeks or so).
