I had my first peri appointment Tuesday to check on the discordant growth issue between the boys (Baby B is 2 weeks bigger than Baby A) and ended up being kept overnight at the hospital for pre-term labor monitoring. <_<

I was contracting quite a bit, deemed to have an "irritable uterus" and put on Ibuprofen therapy. I failed my 1 hour but passed my 3 hour GTT, am anemic and still have placenta previa. I am now to be seen by the peri once a week. The problem? The peri is 2 hours away! The cost of gas alone -- then parking, meals, etc. -- is really going to hurt.

The whole sordid story of my appointment and stay are in my blog -- http://sommer.cronck.com/2007/09/13/just-a...-routine-visit/

Uh-oh, I'm sorry that didn't turn out well. I couldn't stand being in the car for that long; is it 2 hrs one way?? UGH!
I feel for you. It will all be worth it in the end.

What did they say about the discordant growth?

It is two hours one way, and that's only without traffic. :(

They decided that the boys are just genetically different and really aren't too concerned with their differences at this time. The peri said Baby B is just a "chunk" and since Baby A is on the charts and normal for his gestation, she's not worried about him right now. So at least we did have some good news!

I'm sorry you had the scare and had to spend the night in the hospital, but I'm glad they were taking good care of you. Will you remain on some meds to keep the contractions away? Sorry if that's a silly question, i'm a newbie :)
