My boys are still very young, so I know they need lots of sleep. They are STTN usually from around 8:00-6:00 or 7:00. Wonderful! They seem happy when they first wake, but fairly soon after feeding them their first bottle, they seem to want to go down again. Is this normal? Sometimes they are only awake for like an hour before going back down again for a nap. They just slept for like 10 hours how could they be so tired again??

My babies are the same way, and according to HSHHC, it's completely normal. It says you should try to get your babies down for their first nap no longer than an hour after wake up time when they are this little. It's hard for us to do it in an hour, as we do baths in the a.m., but we try. Usually they are up at 7:30, in bed by 8:45/9 and sleep until 9:45/10:00 and then are bright and chipper for awhile.

Sounds totally normal. When mine were little and still on 3 naps a day, they'd take their first nap around 8-8:30. My family thought it was crazy, but they were ready by then. I think their other naps were around 11-12 and 2-3. As they got older, it kept getting pushed back little by little.

My girls did this for a loonngg time! They'd wake up around 6am, nurse and quite honestly, I'd put them right back to bed (after a diaper change) and then they'd give me another couple of hours of sleep, until 8 or (sometimes!) 9am.

Not being a morning person...I loved it! I was actually almost sad, when they decided that going immediately back to sleep wasn't happening anymore

Not that I should complain...we still don't start our day until between 7 and 8!

Totally normal! It's funny, but most babies are like that - their shortest interval awake is usually the first one. You'd think they'd be all slept out, but they just want to go back to bed! Mine can stay up 1.5 hrs MAX after waking in the morning - 1 hr is more comfortable for them.

Mine still do this and have since they were little. Wake up, eat, then back to sleep. During the week, up at 5:00 (for daycare), get bottle, eat breakfast, and back down by 5:50/6ish. They still take naps at 9:30 and 1:00 too.

I'm glad you asked this question! Mine still do this. They are down for the night at 6:30. They eat at 5 am, go back down, and then wake up around 7:30 or 8. Then they go back down for a nap at 9 am! I always thought it was just our babies...glad to see it's normal.
