OK, I had to do a double take since your ticker is so old...

Anyway, our hygientist will only do as much as the kids let her the first few appointments. So at the first appointment, they counted the boys teeth. One of my boys let her scrape and polish--the other barely let them count. Just keep it low key, and they will do fine.

Mine went at just over 2 and did GREAT. I couldn't believe it. I was prepared for a nightmare. I laid in the chair and they put their heads in my lap and the hygenist brushed their teeth and applied the fluoride. The dentist came and checked their teeth and we were done! They got to pick their toothpaste flavor, a new toothbrush and stickers. They loved that! Try to make it sound fun [IMG] Good luck!

I took mine right after their 2nd b-day. The dentist just talked to them/ us. Their older brother needed a chipped tooth looked at as well. They weren't really thrilled about letting a stranger in their mouth. The dentist wasn't the least bit concerned, and said we'd try again in a year. Keep it low key.

I wouldn't worry too much Faye. They have gorgeous smiles now as it is.
