When do you/did you start school this year? I know some people HS year-round, but did you take a summer break? We start this Wednesday. I always try to start on a Wednesday since it is my DH's day off and we have a "not-back to school party." I am so excited to get going! I am doing a ton of new stuff this year and it should be fun and interesting. I am going to kind of ease into it since there are so many new things to get the hang of. We are using Workboxes and I figure that should take the first few days just to get used to. I still haven't finished the book and set everything up. But, I do have the workboxes and have started making my cards. My mom is actually coming over today just to help me clean and get things ready. I love my mommy! :wub:
Although we school year round, over the summer the kids just do light work. We started back with our full load August 1st.
I'm planning on starting in about a week and a half. I have most things ready. I'm excited to get back into the swing of things, but I also love the extra time for my kids to just run and be a little wild.
I'm starting Monday. We had some last minute end of the summer things come up, and so I started two weeks than I originally planned. I was going to start on Aug. 29th, but b/c of an unexpected offer to go to Chicago after our first field trip last Wed, I decided it would be best to start Monday. It just didn't make sense to have a week of school, then take a week off, and then keep going the next week. :blush: Anyway, do you all do anything special to celebrate the first day?
