First day of school

and I don't wanna!! :tease:

I've decided to just kind of ease into it. So we started small and are adding a little more in each day. So far, it's great. How did it end up going, Jenn?

 

I used a different tactic with DD this year. No slow introduction. I just sat her down and gave her the bin for the year. She tried picking it up and complained about how heavy it was. I used that opportunity point out that if she was in "real" school, all those books would be strapped to her back. We made it through the first week with little drama. She still has problems with me correcting her work. She gets very frustrated when she gets something done and then I make her redo most of it. I have brought out the red correction pencil this year. She doesn't like to see the red, so I told her to try harder to get it right the first try. We managed to last all of 2 days before she was car schooling. Spelling is just so easy for me to do with her in the car.

The boys are doing fairly well. William still melts down when Nathan gets done first. If he would just go ahead and start when Nathan starts instead of whining about doing it, he would probably beat Nathan. Nathan is my best student as long as I don't try to make him read. He just sits there and gets his work done so he can go play. He's smart like that. Brandon has learned how to make the letter L with blocks. That's his accomplishment for the first week. He is just thrilled he gets to finally see Mrs. Robin (his speech teacher) tomorrow. Having the summer off feels like an eternity to a 4 yo.
