First camping trip w/ M&A

Spent two nights in the mountains this past weekend w/ a few friends and their kids. We took our horses as well, so were able to give the babies their first pony rides. Thanks to those who posted their tips and BTDT experiences on the camping thread--much appreciated!

A big surprise is that they slept like rocks (unlike us; we have a horse trailer with living quarters so we each slept with one of them in separate beds--it's amazing how much they move around/kick/squirm at night, ugh, thank God for coffee).

They absolutely loved it--however you could see their frustration when we put them in the play yard because they so badly wanted to run around with the 'big kids'... but they're still very wobbly with their newly acquired walking skills. Next summer will be a whole different story I'm sure!

We plan to go again one more time before summer is over...it was a lot of work but way better than being stuck at home. They are just as much work here so why not venture out, eh?

I had L in bed with me the other morning because he was pitiful and sickly and I didn't want him to wake brother. We don't ever have the boys sleep with us and having him in bed with us for a couple of hours confirmed why...swirmy worm...I didn't get a wink of sleep!

Aww, thanks Sandra! And everyone for your sweet comments....

Not sure if 'smoothly' is the right description to capture the weekend, but I honestly thought it was going to be a whole lot worse! :blink:
