    Ok..
So my boys first birthday is around the corner!! I can't believe it is happening already!! Where has the time gone??

SO I need to start the planning!?!? What do I do? I don't know if I should do just family or family and close friends?

Also I live in a townhouse so I am tight on space...so I'm worried about that... I didn't really plan on many kids just a couple of my friends kids if I do friends (maybe 4-5 at the most not including the boys).

Their birthday is November 9th, I plan on having their birthday that Sunday - because we wanted to spend the actual birthday with just the boys and us.

Do y'all think I can do a "cook out" or will it be to cold? Should I keep it small?

The only thing I have planned is the cake...

    HELP! :)

What is the weather normally like where you live at the beginning of November. Where I live it can either be beautiful and warm or very cold.

Aside from that there are no set rules for what you have to do for their birthday. Take their personalities into account.. do they do well with a lot of people? Or do they get overly stimulated? That will help you decide who to include or restrict.

Also, keep it short. Our party was 4 hours which was the max the girls could take and they were completely DONE by the end. I put an end time on the invites to let people know too. Also, pick a time that is good for your kiddos. Mine are very happy after their nap, so I scheduled it from 2-6pm.

This was also good food-wise (in between lunch and dinner). We had heros, salads, and chicken nuggets (for the kids), along with some veggie platters, chips and dips. Then of course cakes for the girls and cupcakes for everyone else.

Oh and have someone in charge of the camera and video camera. I wanted to focus on the girls, so I had other people take pix and video.

    Have fun planning!

Ann, I cannot believe they are going to be one already. I have not seen them in forever. I hope you guys are coming to the Halloween Party, I want to see those cuties.

Our party was in July and we had a cook-out. It was super hot, too hot really. I think early November around here can be pretty nice.

Next year our plan is a favorite foods theme. I am not sure how I am going to make it all happen yet, but I intend to make all their favorite foods for family and friends to share. I have been thinking about the design for our invite already. :)

If you are not having many kids, I would say some lunch and a cake is all you really need. The boys wont really remember. This party is for you and your husband to celebrate making it to 1, so for this one time I would make all your favorite foods.

We are just doing family. We figure 20 people is enough! Our house isn't small, but it definitely isn't big! It's cold in MI. in beginning of November, so we're having it inside.

I think if you have a cookout would depend on the weather. Do you have a big family or not too many to invite? I am doing close friends and family b/c even with close friends it's still only 13 invitations, and probably around 25 people. And even though the weather is nice we're just doing cake and ice cream.

I've been thinking about it too, and our boys share the same birthday!! I'm up in NY and I think it will most likely be too cold to try anything outside. My sister used to live in northern VA and I think a cook out could work by you. I think I am just going to invite my parents and sister and maybe 1 friend. We also have very limited space. Also, just to let you know, you say you are going to have the party on Sunday so you can spend the birthday with just you, November 9th is a Sunday.
