First Birthday Vacation Ideas?!

    Hi there!!

    My DH and I love to travel, and realise that on my ma leave, and with the twins just under one (when we plan to go), we will be able to get a vacation...and also for cheap (as the babies are so young).

    Does anyone have any suggestions of any resorts or islands that may be appropriate to take 1 yr old twins?

    No personal experience but the March 2010 issue of Parents magazine has a story on the 10 best beach vacations for families. They had all sorts of places with amenities for people with kids, including babysitting/nannies if you wanted it. It made me want to go if I could get the time off work!!! Must be nice to have that long a maternity leave. I was forced to go back to work at 8 weeks. Let me know what you decide. I would love to start traveling again because DH and I also love to travel and did it a lot before the babies were born.

    I wonder if I acn still get a copy of that magazine?? :( Probably not. Yes I am VERY grateful for the year off. In Canada, your employer can give you a year off. It is not 100% pay of what you get normally...most employers will give you 6 months of ~85-90% of your pay, and then the last 6 months is employment insurance.

    That is why we really want to take them on a vacation. They would be free at an all inclusive resort at that age...and also if we became tight on money at the end of the mat leave we could always fly with them on our laps (save flight money).

    I will definetly do some research and will post what we decide.
