First birthday present suggestions

Hi ladies! My b/g twins will be 1 at the end of the month (I can barely believe it!). I have NO idea what to get them for their birthday. I was trying to come up with some sort of "special" gift, but nothing. Possibly a necklace for my daughter, but I found nothing I liked. And, then what for my son? So, now I'm thinking just toys. But, what? What are the "essentials" for the next stage?? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

My girls enjoy mega blocks, the Little Tikes grocery cart, ride on toys, Magna doodles, crayons, the Little People farm, climbing equipment, and baby dolls.

 

My boys love their sand and water table!

 

ride-ons were a big hit for the 1st b-day here too.

I just ordered this for my girls 1st birthday.

 

Last year, we got for their 1st bday:

Little People (Airplane (pink/white & brown/white))
Little Tikes Dog (brown/white & pink/white)
Balls (small/medium size) from Target, Wal-Mart or Meijers for $2+ dollars for it (that was a big hit)

Right around 15 months, we brought ball pits (HUGE hit!)

We got the boys a ball pit for their first. We just had to throw it away this year. Enjoy!

 

When ours girls turned one, we'd just had a big christmas, so decided to keep the b-day pretty low key. We got them their first baby dolls and their first trucks...and a couple of those collapsible tunnels. They have a blast with them!

 

Such great ideas! Thank you all so much!!! I think they'd love a ball pit and tunnels to explore. I live in an apartment, so finding things that can go "away" is key. Do you think they could still do a ride-on toy or do they need real space?? I also might be able to make room against a wall for something to climb. Faith is almost walking, but Nathaniel has just started to crawl.
